Man, remember when this only costed $249 four years ago? Obviously all festivals have increased their price since then, but it's not like the ticket hikes have lead to more qualitative experiences across the board.
?
It went up $26.00 in 4 years or was that the final price then vs. the presale pricing now?
I'm referring to a situation from only 4 years ago, don't get me started on when I first started attending festivals a decade ago.
Glad that the sound quality at the Honda Stage has improved.
Gov Ball is only 6 years old... The situation I am talking about was from 2 years ago.. In two years the sound quality and therefore the audience experience has drastically improved.
6? I believe 2018 is gonna be their 8th installment.

I was thinking this...and totally believe this is a reference to Green Day (look at the cover to their latest album, Revolution Radio)
Wow yeah the radio is almost identical. Plus Green Day skipped NY on the second leg of their tour last year to play a little Global Citizen set. I'd love this.
I still can't see Yeah Yeah Yeahs headlining, would Eminem / Green Day / ~~~~ / Yeah Yeah Yeahs / Halsey be too optimistic for a top 5? with a relatively weak headliner in the ~~~~ slot

Eminem - Jack White - Frank Ocean - Yeah Yeah Yeahs
This would be ironic, seeing how MANY of us had to run to the Frank Ocean tent(and miss the beginning) in 2014 after Jack decided to play an extra 45 minutes.

I feel like this is an attempt to subtly brag that you went to Roo in 2014

Well, I took the plunge on the presale - as Launchpad said up-thread, I can always resell if the lineup is really *that* bad. But, general youth movement aside, I haven't seen a lineup yet from these guys that I couldn't glean three days of enjoyment out of, so it seems like a safe bet on saving the money.
That said, the headliner rosters you guys have been kicking out over the past few posts would be no problem, for me (I'm not big on Chainsmokers or Halsey, but I'm sure there'd be counterprogramming worth checking out), so I'm feeling decent enough about my investment, at this point.

The first leg of David Byrne's tour basically circles the tri-state area without hitting NYC so I'd say it's pretty likely he's either playing Gov Ball or Pano.

On one hand, Pano seems like the obvious choice.
On the other, Gov Ball said they've always wanted to book a Talking Heads reunion (lol) so this would be close enough, I guess.

Pure toss up!
I think he'd have to be on the 2nd line at either. He could sell out Radio City or Beacon, so getting him to play a fest in NY and give that up is going to cost a pretty penny.
So given some schedule shifts from our usual fest crew, GBall is looking like a possibility over Roo. Gonna be lineup dependent to an extent, but I have a friend to stay with in NY and miles to cover the super cheap flights from Chi to NYC. It'll actually be a lot cheaper than Roo. David Byrne would def be a nice start. This lineup drops in January as well, correct?

I heard he's likely to play XPN fest in Philly which is the same weekend as Pano, so I'd guess he's playing Pano instead of Gov ball.

Could also be doing Newport that weekend and not Pano. I'd still call it a toss up.
EDIT: Also him doing the South American Lollapaloozas gives him at least some Live Nation connection
