I still can't see Yeah Yeah Yeahs headlining, would Eminem / Green Day / ~~~~ / Yeah Yeah Yeahs / Halsey be too optimistic for a top 5? with a relatively weak headliner in the ~~~~ slot
Eminem / Green Day / The Chainsmokers / Yeah Yeah Yeahs / Halsey
...there ya go
That was my first thought, but I really think the Chainsmokers will be doing Pano. I thought Travis Scott potentially as well, but I see him more for the meadows (plus he has a headlining arena tour planned, so may just want to do that in nyc)

I hear you, Chainsmokers make sense at Pano due to the AEG connection. But man that would stink. Pano has (critically at least) hit home runs with their 6 headliners so far to the point where them playing unopposed hasn't been an issue. Chainsmokers unopposed would be really tough.

I know a lot of people don't like them and I'm sure I'll be getting some flack for this, but how about Mumford & Sons? They're working on a new album that is expected to be released soon, probably in Q2.
1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/4: knock2 3/7: Inhaler* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol

I don’t mind Mumford. There are some great songs on their first two albums. They put on an enjoyable show at Hangout. I would be a tad bit disappointed if they got booked. Not because they are bad, just seem a bit overdone on top of them being kinda passed their prime

The year they played Which at Roo was peak Mumford. All downhill from there.

As someone who was thoroughly unimpressed with their Roo performance, they were fucking awesome at Boston Calling. I think being up close made a huge difference. And the fire. So much fire.

I don't really listen to Mumford much. But every time I have ever seen them I have had a good time. They are not my first choice for a headliner by far though.

I was a big fan for the first two albums. I didn't really care for the third. They are pretty awesome live though.

Bound to happen sooner or later.
Eminem - Mumford - Frank
I'd probably more than likely go if those were the top 3.

I think I'm one of the few people who like the 3rd album. Definitely more of a switch to mainstream rock but I respect them not wanting to play the banjo forever.
And agreed their live shows are a blast. Saw them in the pouring rain last summer at BB&T in Philly and at Firefly and both shows were a ton of fun. I understand people thinking they're a bit of a lazy headliner though since they never stop touring.
I hope the Green Day rumors are true though I somehow doubt they'll be in play for any festival next year. They really need to re-establish themselves beyond their fanbase to show the non-believers what a phenomenal live act they are.

Do they still play for 2.5 hours of which a third of it is Billie Joe yelling HEEEEYYYYYYY HOOOOOOOOOO?

That's exactly why they would play festivals...
Yeah isn't that exactly the reason they should play.
Two acts next year that could really unlock a huge new 18-25 fanbase by playing fests would be Green Day and Fleetwood Mac IMO.
