I do agree it looks like LCD which would be great for me as I missed ALL of their Brooklyn Steel shows! But at the same time they are in Germany the last week of May and Ireland the first week of June so not sure they'd fit in a trek back to NY in there
There is no way LCD would play Gov Ball and not be a headliner. Especially below the Yeah Yeah Yeah's.
Ultimately, the biggest question I have about it is: Are they crossed out due to a late cancellation, or is it an artist to be revealed at a later date? Someone tell me how excited I should be, damnit!
Jack White N.E.R.D. Chvrches Gaslight Anthem Cut Copy Manchester Orchestra Japandroids The Menzingers
Will see:
Eminem Yeah Yeah Yeah's Silk City Sylvan Esso Third Eye Blind Tash Sultana Brockhampton Alvvays Wolf Alice The Struts Middle Kids Pond Slaves
Hopefully the schedule works out nicely. That's enough for 3 days but if I didn't have the accommodations I have, I wouldn't exactly be dying to go to this.

I honestly just don't get what you're asking. If there was a cancellation then the only reason to keep the crossed out name on the poster would be if they were replacing them. Which seems like the exact same thing as "an artist to be revealed at a later date"

Starting from the bottom with bands I don't know, yet:
Lou the Human: Ugh, more mumble rap, and not even good mumble rap.
Mikky Ekko: Alright for monogenre stuff. Some of his songs are catchy. I also didn't recognize the name from "Stay" - derp.
Lophile: Not the EDM I'm looking for.
Confidence Man: I...really don't know how I feel about this. It's kind of electro-clashy, and there's certainly something obnoxious about it (live video clips confirm obnoxiousness)...but there's something catchy, here, too. With the right crowd vibe...
Spencer Lee: Kind of generic for my tastes.
Slaves (UK): I'm INTO it. Old school British punk meets bluesy guitar rock. Kick-ass.
When Loyle Carner is the jewel of the undercard though.
I was just really excited to see that he’s coming to the US again. His last trip here was only like NY and some CA dates. If I were going to this, I’d be pleased though.

Well, the question's been answered, so there you go - surprise to come later.
I don't get why the cancellation thing was beyond the pale. Again, The Meadows in 2016 put out a poster with two artists crossed out, both of which were cancellations. It's not unprecedented.

Took me like 30 seconds to go, "Yep. I could start my fest day with this."

It's more that I don't get what the difference is. Especially because in all likelihood this surprise to come later is a replacement for David Byrne. Really just a matter of semantics.
It seems to start with an L, but I can't see it being LCD Soundsystem or Lord Huron which have been the two guesses I have seen. Any other predictions?
