I'd be pretty happy with this, but there are some tough conflicts in there for me.
FRIDAY Slaves (UK) > Sir Sly/Two Feet (game-time decision) > Pond > Tash Sultana > Wolf Alice > Alvvays > Maggie Rogers > Yeah Yeah Yeahs > James Blake > Jack White
SATURDAY VHS Collection (I'd be really sad to miss The Regrettes, though) > Mikky Ekko > Aurora > The Menzingers (and maybe skip to the end of Moses Sumney to try to catch "Lonely World," which looks amazing, live, and I've heard is often his set-closer) > Japandroids > Manchester Orchestra (oof, another tough one - Cut Copy's probably going to be fun) > Silk City > Gaslight Anthem
SUNDAY Confidence Man > Alice Merton > The Struts > Middle Kids > Third Eye Blind (sitting-on-a-blanket-in-the-field set) > Margo Price (same) > Dirty Projectors > Sylvan Esso > N.E.R.D. > Chvrches > Eminem
That'd give me 29 full sets, which beats last year's 27. Not too shabby.

Not probably. Cut Copy is a top 3 act on this lineup.

YYYs and NERD are the two sets I am most looking forward to. Been listening to that new NERD album nonstop since the lineup dropped. I love it. I cannot wait to hear this one live:
That new Dirty Projectors album was the cringiest album in years. I still have wrinkles after listening to it nearly a year ago.
really? i enjoy it
I think if Amber hadn't been the obvious subject of every song, it would've been ok. Instead, it comes off as the indie rock equivalent of Robin Thicke's Paula album.
That clashfinder really enforces how awful Saturday and Sunday are at this thing, would definitely get a day ticket for that Friday though if I was in the area.
that clashfinder is also pretty wrong. No chance they put Galantis on the main stage

My top two:
YYYS - always wanted to see them, never did.
Jack White - Knocked my socks on my ass at GovBall 2014, which was my first a) GovBall, b) experience with certain...ahem...mood-altering substances. So, yeah, that'll be a bit of magic I'll be happy to recapture.

Or if he hadn’t taken what had been a low-key relationship and decided to very publicly make an album about it without giving even a courtesy heads up to her about it (despite the fact they still were working together at the time). I thought that was super shitty.

And if you're gonna do that and then go out and play those songs live, at least make sure you don't sound like shit
would it be different if the album was about a girl you had never heard of?
On first listen I mostly liked the album. I thought it was a little awkward at parts but raw and appealing. But finding out she had no idea it was coming despite communicating with Dave regularly turned me off from it. Her career is now saddled by her relationship with him, despite their efforts to keep it quiet while they were together. Can he ultimately make that album if he wants? I dunno, probably. But he definitely owed her to courtesy of a heads up.

The album was a shrinker for sure, I just don't get this line of thinking really. Like people writing music about past lovers is maybe the most common theme in every genre and I don't think I've ever heard this type of thinking for any other album about needing to communicate with the person about it. I don't think her being semi famous should really make a difference and I don't think they were really communicating regularly at that time anyway.
Not that it really matters but I've just seen this a ton and I don't get it.

Nah he was producing new music for her right up until the album came out. I mean, on the list of shitty things men have done that came to light in 2017, this is basically last. It’s not some unforgivable thing, but it definitely makes it hard for me to vibe with the album.

I thought I read that they were barely speaking when he was producing her album but I could be wrong. But yeah it doesn't really matter at this point, the album isn't that great anyway.

Could be worse: Could be Fleetwood Mac. Nothing quite beats people in the same band writing an entire album of breakup songs about each other.

So, hey, folks for whom Cut Copy is one of the main draws: I’ve always been aware of them, but never really *into* them. What are some essential tracks? Help me make a potential decision between them and Manchester Orchestra either harder, or a no-brainer in Cut Copy’s favor.

Lights & Music is their quintessential track IMO, but I also really like Take Me Over, Where I'm Going, Hearts On Fire and Pharaohs & Pyramids. Their most recent songs are solid too; I like Standing in the Middle of the Field.
