Yeah the way I see it everyone lucked out by having something actually fun and interesting to see instead of Chvrches
Plus they'll be everywhere next year anyways, and all the new stuff will probably sound better than it will this June
Chvrches have really improved their live act after every album so far. They added a drummer this time so I think you can expect another step up. But if you're not into their music that's another thing.
But yeah Chvrches will be everywhere the next 2 years, not sure N.E.R.D will be.
I really like Chvrches but I'm in the same boat as everyone here. They're gonna be at Lolla Thursday and there's probably a great chance they play Coachella next year too. NERD is the more unique booking and if I don't check them out at GBall, I probably never will.
I love Chvrches but Im gonna have to wait and see on their setlist because this new music has been super underwhelming so far.
Also, I'm looking a bit closer at this Friday schedule and the Shawn Mendes addition made a ton of the mid day set times super odd. An 1:30 gap with no music on the AE stage, an uncharacteristic 1:15 gap on main from 5:30 to 6:45 and there isnt a set on Honda longer than 45 minutes until Post Malone

Love CHVRCHES, don't find them boring at all. But I don't think I can miss NERD. Never seen them and who knows how long theyll be around before disappearing again.
Citi Presale thank you very much. Just got 3 tickets for Cut Copy Friday. See you goons there.
For those who have done the fest/aftershow combo, am I going to be able to stay for all of Jack on Friday and still get to Brooklyn Bowl in time for Cut Copy? Says show starts at 11:30 but is that Cut Copy starting exactly at that time? Or do they typically throw in an opener last minute?

Should be alright. I did Avalanches at BK Bowl last year. Stayed till the end of Gambino, walked the bridge, caught an uber, and got there early enough that I still stood around waiting for over an hour.

Ah, man, I'd love to do that Cut Copy show, but I don't know that I'm going to have the wherewithal to make it to Brooklyn given the state of mind I'm going to be in for Jack White.
This seems like a particularly full schedule of After Dark shows, though! Am I remembering it wrong, or is this more than they usually do?

Can ditto this with Royal Blood last year. These shows start LATE. Last year I left Phoenix, Ubered to Greenpoint, went to a pregame for an hour, and was still half hour early to the show at Warsaw. I think they went on at 1AM.
In for the Menzingers - The Menzingers > Japandroids > Manchester Orchestra > The Gaslight Anthem and then the Menzingers aftershow. Be still my white-boy, guitar-loving heart
Just noticed the Shawn Mendes add...wtf? Are fests now actively seeking out generic pop acts? Can we expect to see Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, Ed Sheeran on lineups now?
They were smart putting Jack Whitw against James Blake...if they put him up against Post he would have drawn less then 20k.

Ed Sheeran headlined Glastonbury last year so yeah, probably.
In today's festival climate. If you get Jack White, Yeah Yeah Yeah's, and James Blake all on the same day at a Festival that targets the younger people...then you take it.

Yes. See also Camila Cabello at Lollapalooza. It's the way of the future. And the future looks bleak.
