Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Also, I'm currently listening to Portugal. The Man's set from Bonnaroo this year, and I hope they end up on GovBall 2018's bill, somewhere. They're certainly nowhere near a headliner, but I could see them crushing a mid-day or sunset set.
I'd love for them to close the Honda stage against a bigger act playing the main stage (like Childish Gambino this year) but not sure they're at that level yet. Maybe they could get bumped up to pre-headliner if this new album catches on.

Really enjoyed Governors Ball. Went Friday and it was my first year. The layout is great, Randall's Island is easy to get to the only thing was the crowd was relatively young. It didn't ruin my time nor am I against kids showing up to shows and festivals, it just felt reallllyyy young.
I only see this festival expanding and getting better acts.
I could see:
The Weeknd * Mumford and Sons * Vampire Weekend * Pretty Lights * Bon Iver *

Glad you had fun. I dont think I have ever heard anyone call Randalls easy to get to before haha. I kind of look at getting there as part of the experience though. Anything you think they can do better?

Coming in from Metro North and 125th Street was fine, the walk was just as bad as getting a shitty camping spot at Bonnaroo.
1. I would expand the 21 and over area, it was a hidden gem but was packed by the evening. 2. Open gates earlier. Gates opened at 11:45 when music began at 12:15. Not sure if that is a parks rule. 3. See if the "after dark" shows can start around 1:00am, would've loved to see another show after Chance. 4. I didn't use will call but it looked like a cluster fuck. 5. More water stations near main stage.
What about you Launchpad? You're a big govball guy eh?

Ah nice. Did you walk the bridge or take the x80? I have never walked the 103rd bridge, I may try that out next year.
Did you try to go to an after dark show and not make it on time? I managed to just barely make it to BK Bowl on Saturday night taking the subways. But usually the easiest way is to buy a shuttle pass. It drops you right near where most of the shows are happening. Unless you are trying to go to Webster, then you def have to take the subway.
Will Call is usually a clusterfuck on Friday afternoon but then clears up. If you need to use it, take the x80 and go through the other gate. Line is always much shorter!
I think everything you said are good points. After all these years I kind of think they are doing all they can and have it down to a science. Always cool to hear takes from peeps who are going for the first time.
This is the first year they had a 21+ area. Seems like it was a big hit. I hope they can create a few more spots like that.

Did you skip Bonnaroo this year?
Haven't been on the forum in ages, catching up.
Missed Roo this year. Couldn't justify the cost/time off/travel for the lineup. I did Boston Calling and two days of GovBall instead (easier since in my neck of the woods). I did see the PTM setlist at Roo and downloaded their set off youtube. It looks solid. I did catch them on Tuesday of last week in NYC, though, so I'm content for a little while.

Would definitely return. I walked from 125th across the RFK, it was a mile walk. Brought a road soda and made the trek. I didn't try for an after show on Friday, however nothing caught my eye.

I did Boston Calling on Saturday, great layout as well, although the lines were shit by the end of the day and a lot vendors ran out of food. However, I would definitely return as well. I think they could have utilized the Blue Stage better. Bon Iver and The XX should have been over there.
I saw PTM at T5 on Wednesday, seeing Dawes on Friday and MMJ in July. Getting my fill in, though thinking about the return to the farm next year after three years off.

I was Tuesday at PTM but I'll also be at the MMJ show in July. Besides that I'm not sure what else I have coming up. Roger Waters in September and trying for Conor Oberst w/ Felice Brothers coming up soon.
Hoping to return to Roo but it's entirely lineup-dependent now. This year was not that appealing to me.

Totally with that person on expanding that little 21+ area by the ferry/RFK entrance. Awesome little area to chill during the day. Maybe add one somewhere in the grass looking to the Gov Ball stage too?
I think getting to the island isn't too bad. Getting off is another story entirely though. Did the ferry back to the city seem more fucked than usual this year or was it just me?
I could swear they had the 21 area before, it was just smaller. I remember going a few years ago because it was the only spot that had alcohol that wasn't beer

What's the 21 and over spot? Sounds...I don't know how it sounds. Also, who's playing this next year Launchpad? Just go ahead and spill and I'll come for the first time.

It's an enclosed area that sells mixed drinks. They card at the gate like it's a bar. There's a couple of food vendors, pottys and some free vendor stuff. It's a nice place to get away from the Youngs. The only problem I had in there was the kids that managed to get on with fake IDs, only to get checked again when they went to get drinks and had them taken away. They'd then throw a fit about the license being taken away and hold up the line
Very strange that the Foos are completely skipping NYC on this run... Maybe theyll be at Global Citizen again though. Who knows.
I think this run is a "B/C market tour". I suspect Green Day will be at Global Citizen Festival. GD would also be an excellent headliner choice for Gov Ball.
