Insane get with Pusha. Longshot, but perhaps we see Kanye at some point Saturday? His new album drops Friday and he'll likely be in the city... he obviously has somewhat of a relationship with the festival and Sat now has Pusha off a new Kanye produced album and Travis Scott that night
Would it make sense for the ferry passes to be on Stubhub? We decided last minute that it's probably the way to go, but it's too late for the will call pickup because we won't be in NYC until 8 pm Thursday. There are passes at face value on Stubhub but I'm weary that if we'd have to will call the actual passes, that someone selling on Stubhub would have them at the Stubhub pickup facility that quick. I use Stubhub all the time but never had to do the pickup option and idk if the ferry pass is a wristband or what. Can anyone shed any light on that process? Is it even worth it?

Its a wristband. You can def get it at the stubhub pickup or will call the day of. I recommend just walking the bridge over ferry though.
Website says a 15 min walk from Manhattan/125th street over the RFK bridge. I think that's the route but I just hope it's not a nightmare getting to that point.

If its closer, walk the bridge on 103rd instead. Less crowded, and also an easier more scenic walk than RFK.

Can fully second this. Discovered the 103rd street bridge route last Gov Ball and did it for Pano too. I don't know how much time it actually saves since the walk on Randall's is probably about 15-20 min, but it's so much calmer and more scenic, both on the way in and the way out.
I'd love for some more after dark shows to be announced. I'm still surprised acts like James Blake and Cut Copy didn't get one. Would love an ALVVAYS after dark show.

What are the odds Pusha announces a last minute after show?
I can't make it to the fest but fuck I want him to announce like a bowery ballroom last minute show.
I have a feeling there will be one. With pusha T all over the news / twittersphere, kanye dropping an album on friday, it will be the perfect storm for a hyped show
Yeah Yeah Yeahs at Aragon Ballroom – 5/29/18 Setlist Modern Romance Rich Cold Light Black Tongue Gold Lion Pin Zero Sacrilege Miles Away Soft Shock Maps Cheated Hearts Heads Will Roll
Push about to have Drake in blackface plastered on that screen like it's Summer Jam. I cannot wait for his set
They need to buy a lottery ticket. A potentially damaging, last minute cancelation has been replaced by an artist with one of the most anticipated sets of the weekend.
Shit the weather forecast is looking bleak. Hope the thunder doesn't cause another day to get axed!
Me too! Though tomorrow and Sunday are looking ok. Saturday definitely looks troublesome, but these forecasts change like hourly and there's like 10 different weather websites that will report 10 different percentages of different weather conditions. Just be prepared for the rain but at the same time keep the fingers crossed the stormy weather steers away

Yeah I guess you can never trust these forecasts. Last night I went to the Kendrick concert at Jones Beach. The day before they said it was going to be 80 degrees and partly cloudy. When I get there it was 55 degrees and drizzling.

Four causes for a little hope on the Saturday front:
1) Most forecasts have a "wetness bias" of at least a few percentage points, because people will be more pissed if they're told it's not going to storm/rain and it does than vice versa. 2) Most forecasts are not hyper-local - for example, I read the Forecast Discussion on the NWS New York City forecast, and it's talking about Connecticut and New Jersey in addition to NYC...which, itself, is a pretty big area of land. So, thunderstorms in one part of the city don't necessarily mean thunderstorms all over. 3) The forecasts that I'm looking at are predicting very light winds during the thunderstorm hours, and somewhere between a quarter- and a half-inch of rainfall...which isn't great, but isn't terrible, either. That would leave lightning as the only real concern. 4) And, finally, the hourly forecast I just looked at said the threat of thunderstorms abates at 4 PM, shifting to just rain...and that's down from when it said 5 PM this morning. I know hourly forecasts are speculative that far out, but if that happens, we could be looking at just a delayed opening - it would certainly suck to lose the first quarter to half of the day, but I'll take 6 hours of a festival day over zero.
Honestly, I'm mostly hoping tomorrow holds out and Sunday shapes up as predicted. Of all the days, Saturday is the one I'd be least sad to lose...but, of course, I'm hoping like hell it doesn't come to that, either.
June is just all around iffy when planning outdoor events nowadays due to climate change. Wonder if Gov Ball can eventually shift to September given that Panorama is over after this year from what I've heard.

I think even two or three weeks later into June might do it.

I think it's really important to be the first festival out of the gate in NYC when everyone is still super excited about the summer and being outside.
I don't think September works with everyone back to normal work schedules, and if you push it back 2-3 weeks you open the door for GV or someone else to swoop in and do a festival late May/early June.
Everyone knows the weather situation, and it still sells out. Why change?
The weather isn't much different so whatever. It's summer in New York, it's going to thunderstorm and it's going to torrentially downpour, just a part of summer festivals. Dance in it
Cancellations suck and so does rain when under 70 degrees, but it is what it is.
