While I could see it happening, they are in AUS till the week before BE. I’m not completely sold on this idea of canceling a show so they could play the festival months after the show was announced.
That said, I hope I’m wrong. It just feels odd they said “two weeks or less” and that was a month ago.
I've been replying to their last few tweets, trying to get a response, but so far it's been fruitless.
They’ve given the “IT’S SO GREAT!!!!!!!1!” response a few times. I’m sure you’d get the same.

OK, so Imma break this down for y'all:
1) This tweet is just about the most explicit hint that the artist spotlighted will be on 2018's lineup. "We've had quite a few MacArthur Genius prizewinners take the stage during #BigEarsKnox. This newly-minted Genius might just fit the bill..." I mean, c'mon, it's like they're not even trying anymore.
2) Tyshawn Sorey was a sideman on Roscoe Mitchell's current album.
3) If Tyshawn will be there, it's very likely that he was already booked as part of Mitchell's touring band, that is, that Mitchell was already booked.
4) If Mitchell is indeed booked, that is an artist previously spotlighted but not explicitly hinted as being on the lineup, lending great credibility to the assumption that spotlighted artists are lineup acts regardless of how strongly they are hinted at.
I still think we will get an announcement of an announcement.

Now I'm allowing myself to be excited.
There isn’t a doubt in my mind that Roscoe Mitchell is booked. I get iffy on the past artists tweets/mentions but at this point in the ballgame, that was a hint.

I was about to start thinking that we're not getting any teasers this weekend, so we can get the lineup next week. I don't know anymore. I believe GL's theory now.

In all fairness, we got spoiled last year with such an early release. It coincided with a special event they were curating.
Something just feels off about saying “two weeks, maybe sooner” and then still hinting a over a month down the road. Maybe I’m wrong, I dunno.
Taborn is another name I only know in passing. I’ll be on that tonight after the sugar buzz wears off from the kids.

Definitely starting to agree that something big fell through. They're building and losing momentum in really awkward ways - like the video series that ended with no fanfare.
