I honestly don't know which I'm more excited about. The idea of GY!BE or that they might bring Silver Mt. Zion with them. Between the two bands, they can could fill the entire festival with solo/duo projects.

Congrats. I know literally four names off that list and only heard three. Looks like I have some digging to do tonight.
Hieroglyphic Being did play last year. I missed his solo set but was there for the Marshall Allen show.
Most of these names are European based and play all kinds of experimental festivals over there. Hopefully Big Ears can get at least 4-5 of them. I'm not expecting much though. Just wishing.
I am hoping that they go back to a composer in residence. I missed that this past year. Would enjoy to see Arvo Part or John Adams bring his new opera to the festival.
I saw where Third Coast Percussion is playing in NC earlier in the week of festival. Would not be surprised to see them show up.

Bjork almost seems obvious, given the new album timing, but I almost wonder if she's "too big" for a cozy festival like this. It would make pretty Arca easy.

I know right. I was planning on taking a break from festivals next year, but if Darkside plays anything I will be there. Seeing them twice was not nearly enough.
Didn't Nicolas Jaar say he was going on hiatus after this run?
And how on earth did I miss Jlin on that list? She cancelled Hopscotch due to Irma and I need a makeup show. Like stat.
I just know about him saying that his New York shows would be the "last time in a while". You never know if that's a hiatus for him altogether, for performing solo or for playing New York.

I have no reason to believe that Darkside are coming back, I just want them to and Big Ears seems like a good place to do it.

When I went to a Nico DJ set a couple years back in D.C., I ended up talking to his sound guy for a while in the crowd, and I asked about the return of Darkside and basically got the answer of "it won't be super soon but maybe sooner than ppl think."

Sorry to hear that. Health is always the most important. My greatest fear is losing my hearing at a later age. So I'm always trying to put some ear plugs in any concert I go to, and listen to music not too loud.
