It’s not a good look for any festival. In one concert he managed to assault a female photographer, inflict bodily harm on himself, insult individuals with mental challenges, flip off the crowd and insult Muse for no apparent reason.
Besides being an issue in and of itself 1) festivals don’t want to associate their brand with these type of issues in the current political climate 2) nobody wants the next incident to then potentially take place at the actual festival
It’d be nice if everything wasn’t politicized, but anyone in the public limelight has to be aware of scrutiny they’re going to be under.

Yeah at this point, I think I'm leaning towards the festival dates being dropped. Whatever comes of this, SK probably doesn't want to deal with the negativity that will come with them being one of the headliners. And I feel like this is going to blow up a little more than it is right now. Not sure if its in regards to this, but Anthony Bourdain, who's friends with Josh, seemed to hint that something was going to go down on Monday. Not sure what that could be? Charges maybe? But it's entirely possible he meant something else. I'll be surprised if there isn't some rough fallout from this.

yeah... it's likely their tour gets cancelled at this point. hopefully he'll get some help, go to rehab or something... he's obviously dealing with something.
edit: he did offer a better apology on video and it seemed to be sincere, but i still expect there to be some fallout from this.
Are people really surprised by Homme's actions? He's usually pretty loaded onstage. Also, heard that Queens only allow photography for the first 3 songs, and only shot from side stage.
Nah, just because they've announced festivals around that time as well. Seems like they will be playing shows. Very well could not happen, but would not be surprised if it did.
That's what I was thinking. This whole Josh thing makes me really sad because they've been one of my favorite bands for like 17 years, longer than that when you count Kyuss. I love pretty much everything he's ever done musically. He's always been a bit of a dick but it's funny most of the time. This time he was way out of line. I don't think he meant to hurt her, but still, you can't do what he did. Anyway, if they booked QOTSA and they had to replace him, Tool would be a suitable replacement. Maynard is a dick too but he isn't close enough to the front of the stage to kick anyone.

Most bands only allow for the first 3 songs. No, they allow in the pit in front of the stage like everyone else, unless they changed it for this tour, which I doubt.

Makes sense. Someone from their crew was on Twitter saying she was shooting against their rules and he kicked the camera and in turn it hit her. Apparently the photographers were supposed to be further back to let Queens camera crew through.
I doubt this will affect their festival bookings. those Hippie Sabotage douches straight up choked a security guard out on camera and still got booked at Coachella, Lolla, etc.

Now that I know that she was shooting against their rules, I totally think she shoulda been kicked in the face. Glad we were able to clear up this hospital visit
I would actually be shocked by this booking, based on past headliners and a 2017 lineup devoid of hard or prog rock acts. If QOTSA is out (and if they were ever actually in), I would expect someone along the lines of Modest Mouse, Beck, or YYYs to slide into a headliner spot. Or maybe we swap QOTSA for Muse, which would seem to be a particular "f&%$ you" to Josh Homme. I'm still thinking Jack White and Fleet Foxes for the other two headliners.

I don't know. There was a good bit of metal and hard rock in 2016. Seems like last year was just catering to the headliners they had on the bill. Like I said, not saying they'll be there, but I would not be shocked if they were.

Except this is a headliner-level band and this incident has now gotten a ton of coverage.

Understood. I guess the question is whether 2017 was a permanent change in direction (fewer bands, fewer stages, more indie and alt rock) or just an off year for harder rock music. I would personally enjoy seeing Tool.

Same here. It will be interesting to see where the lineup goes this year.
Is Tool not too big of a booking for SK? I mean the xx and Phoenix were headliners last year. I suppose it depends who the other 2 are.
I'm still choosing to believe that Muse is a headliner (or Jack White) and they would definitely be the highest-billed name. Either one of those I think would be SK's biggest booking.
They still do the free admission for shaky tattoo right? I keep asking them in various social media’s and they won’t answer me. I dunno if they are afraid if everyone(a lot) getting a tattoo would mean low ticket sales. But I just want to know
