I've lived in Atlanta for 15 years and have seen countless local bands but I don't know a single person who has ever seen or talked about Manchester Orchestra. Are we sure they exist? I can think of several local bands I'd rather see on the undercard
You must not get out much.
i guess I should clarify that I don't hate MO, I just have never seen them play and really know nothing about their style of music however I am aware of their annual Stuffing concerts. As to going out, once you have kids, it's a bit harder to go a show at the EARL or 529 to watch a band START playing at 1am. I guess my point is I'd rather see a band that isn't local in a mid-tier spot at SK and save the local bands for deeper down in the undercard, give them a chance to get some exposure. Bands like Omni (who are playing the week before in Houston i think)

I'm just saying if you don't know anyone that even knows the band. I'm not from Atlanta but I believe everyone that I know in Atlanta knows them.
tbh, as much as I'd love to see The National and Fleet Foxes, if the undercard doesn't have enough that peaks my interest enough to drop $200 on this for a fourth year, I may sit this one out. none of the speculated headliners besides Arctic Monkeys and Vampire Weekend excite me. if Tame plays? I'm there
Tame headlined in 2015. I doubt they'll be there. Would love to see Vampire Weekend there. I'm not an AM fan at all though so I'm hoping they don't end up a headliner, personally. I really want to see FF, so if they headline and i'm not into the others and the undercard sucks, i'll just buy a one day ticket to see them. hoping it's not bad enough to skip altogether because i love SK. I feel like this could possibly be a weak year for my taste but hopefully i'll love it.
If any 3 of those Top 5 predictions are true though, I'm there.
I 100% agree about Tame, I don't expect them there at all, which is why I'm surprised to see they cracked the top 5 of predictions. no way P.tm is there either, their show the other week at the Roxy doesn't rule them out, that's plenty of time in between shows, but they are playing 2 nights at GA Theatre in Athens in February and they won't play 2 years in a row. those predictions are just who people have been guessing, they mean nothing.

Yeah, I literally have no clue why they think Ptm would play. And yeah I know it doesn't mean anything, I'm just saying those are pretty much the headliners I'm hoping for, best case scenario.

It's weird because Tame technically "headlined" but they were like 8th on the lineup. Only reason I even have any hope for them is because they must have really liked Shaky Knees since it's the only time that I'm aware of that they've ever come back out for an encore at a festival. But it would depend on if SK wanted to book them again. In my opinion a 3 year gap with Currents released in between (and subsequently Tame blowing up) wouldn't be too soon and I'd think they'd want them back. Would certainly be a ticket seller.

To be fair, like half of the songs from Currents were already released by the time their show at Shaky happened.

4 songs had been released, but The Less I Know The Better hadn't which has obviously become his biggest song ever.

I'm a huge Tame fan so I'd love to see them back again, I just honestly still think it's too soon for SK to want to book them again. Could be wrong though. Also who knows what Tame is gonna do next year, could be a full blown tour and new album, could just be that one fest is just a one off thing. I'd certainly welcome it, just don't see it as likely for them to repeat that quickly.

You forgot Jazzfest where he eats a beignet on stage and raps Zydeco
I'm holding on to the tiny shred of hope that SK got David Byrne and/or Nick Cave
I had a a sliver of hope last year that PJ Harvey would play SK but that didn't happen. David Byrne would be fun as hell and I'd love to see NC and the Bad Seeds take the spot the Pixies had this year.

Lollapalooza AND Pitchfork would have me legitimately upset

Also doing Riot Fest, because Chicago just can't get enough spaghetti

Not a bad mock, although your Sunday would be super weak for me outside of Fleet Foxes.
The funny part is that Friday would actually be the weakest day for me because there is not a single act that I would want to see that I have not already seen multiple times.

I've been listening to LEON for two years now and seeing her hit the festival circuit this year made me really happy - hope she'll be at Shaky next year.

Solid work. I'd go. Two notes... I'd flip Parquet Courts and Rostam's set times and I bet The National will be there.
I think QOTSA - The National - Fleet Foxes is a perfectly reasonable top line for Shaky Knees. I'd prefer Fleet Foxes at 4 and that we get a bigger number one. Arcade Fire seems reasonable but someone in here mentioned David Byrne and now I can't stop thinking about that even though there's no chance in hell it happens.

I'm hoping for Arcade Fire. QOTSA as a #1 is a big step down from The Strokes and Florence.
And if Fleet Foxes aren't headlining then that puts either FF or Tenacious D down to #5 and I couldn't imagine either of those being there.
