I'm definitely looking forward to the lineup announcement as I am always shocked at how well they keep it secret as barely even any rumors come out about the lineup. I know they sign nda's which obviously seems to work as my friend works the event and never even whispers a band to me.
I will say that I would be stoked with the yyy, Arctic, alt j, QOTSA or Jack playing. That 2013 music midtown day was one of my favorite days of music at a fest ever which is saying alot for my old ass. I'm hoping for a few surprises at least as these European lineups are killing it so far. Wish I could do to mad cool fest my dream lineup!!
In fact if shaky doesn't bring it this year it may be my first year skipping it as I'm really digging the Carolina rebellion lineup that same weekend.
I think Beck has a legit chance of being included. His press releases referenced the new songs being suited for the summer festival environment, and he hasn’t been on any line-ups (that I’ve seen).
Sinkane announced a handful of dates today. He's playing the Northeast in March then Rothbury in June. I'd love if he hit Shaky Knees. His shows are really fun.

He's playing Auckland City Limits and Sydney City Limits festivals in AUS and NZ in March

He's back in Houston for In Bloom in late March...
Are we going to be super bummed out when our headliners are QOTSA - YYYs - Fleet Foxes?
Yeah but probably just me.
I'm trying to keep my expectations low, but I'm still holding out hope for some major surprise we didn't expect like Bon Iver or Tame Impala.
Realistically though, the only headliner that's still probably possible that would make me extremely happy is Arcade Fire. Hoping for them as #1 with all my might. The National would also make me happy. QOTSA or YYY's - The National - FF would make me a lot happier than QOTSA - YYY's - FF. If it ended up being the latter, I'd really have to look at the undercard to see if it was worth it to go all three days.

I just really don't see that happening. LCD - XX - Phoenix seems way more popular in this day and age and I feel SK would know that. On top of the fact that Fleet Foxes don't seem to be shooting for high billing (shockingly low in fact).

Pond is playing Boston Calling and Gov Ball, which might mean Tame Impala has some festival gigs earlier in the summer...I can’t see Pond doing another tour of the US this close to the one happening now, and I’m not sure they would pop back over for 2 festival gigs.
Pond played last year. They absolutely won't play at SK again this year. They are playing on the 15th in Atlanta though.
Totally agree that Pond won’t be playing...I’m saying there’s a chance for Tame Impala since Pond is basically Kevin Parker’s backing band, and they’re going to be back in the states 2 months after a lengthy US tour ends...just seems a little odd to me.
Just bought a presale ticket to Shaky Beats, hope that turns out well. I'm a very big fan of ODESZA so them plus another good headliner or two will make it worth it.
Jack White / QOTSA / Vampire Weekend Fleet Foxes/Chvrches/Tenacious D/David Byrne MGMT/Grimes/The War On Drugs/Franz Ferdinand Courtney Barnett & Kurt Vile/Broken Social Scene King Krule/Deerhunter/Death from Above/Iceage Alvvays/Perfume Genius/Parquet Courts/The Voidz Oh Sees/Big Thief/Protomartyr/Japanese Breakfast
Thomas your undercard is awesome. Protomartyr unfortunately has conflicting dates as that woulda been great to see. I’m gonna put Guided By Voices in their place. I hope we get some post-rock too like Godspeed or This Will Destroy You or Do Make Say Think. I always hope for Balmorhea and Hammock too since Hammock’s I think Nashville centered if they are around they’d be great. They aren’t on Big Ears either though so not really a good sign.
Bjork NIN The National or NIN The National and Jack White/Beck would make this year plus your undercard arguably as good as any SK ever imo. I’m sure Bjork isn’t likely unless she gets announced to Levitation part 2 and she hasn’t played ATL in years but that’d be a great female headliner instead of Yeahs since Beyoncé and Haim aren’t likely to be available.
