The lineup isn’t always consistent with that as far as spot on poster and day they play. For example last year they had the XX and LCD flopped on the poster and the same with 2016 with Florence and Jane’s Addiction so I wouldn’t put all my eggs in that theoretical basket. But yeah looks like Queens is Saturday or Friday due to Carolina Rebellion.
Has anybody seen if they definitely are doing late adds for sure this year??

Oh wow, they really upped the fee cost on 3 day gen tickets this year. $31.37, yikes. ..may just use stubhub again, was cheaper than the early bird prices last year, lol.
We're considering hitting this fest for the first time if Forecastle doesn't look better. I've looked through some pictures and it seems to be about the same size of a festival as Forecastle. Can anyone that has been to both compare the two?

I would say the two are pretty comparable in both size and general feel. Of the two, I would prefer Shaky Knees.
1. David Byrne 2. Tie between JW and The National 3. Fleet Foxes 4. QOTSA 5. Courtney Barnett 6. The War on Drugs* 7. Franz Ferdinand 8. The Distillers 9. Brian Jonestown Massacre 10. The Voidz 11. Alvvays 12. Chicano Batman 13. Parcels 14. Parquet Courts* 15. Manchester Orchestra
whats the weather like in ATL in early May, it doesn't seem too hot from this 'average weather'/clearly not the most trusted weather source site I'm on.

Low 80s. It can be humid and rainy at the beginning of May but we've lucked out with nice weather the last few years.
They're back at Central Park so they'll probably have at least five stages if they revisit previous structure.
Does anyone care that Homme kicked the camera girl?
That got swept under the rug pretty quickly.
Also, is Byrne doing TH material or will his set be mostly focused on solo stuff? He has a new album coming soon I believe.
When I saw Byrne in 2008 in Atlanta he had a new album out but almost 1/2 the setlist was TH songs so expect about 1/2 new album and then some solid TH tunes.

When Shaky posted the lineup, they also posted (its in the video announcement) there will be four stages this year. But, as has been pointed out, they did it with three last year and I still enjoyed the fest. But which bands get late night sets could be key again.

I normally am too wiped out for the late shows, any advice on how to rally after 11 hrs at a festival(legally)? Asking for a 38 yr old dad who doesn't stay up late as he used to....

Becides Molly?
Crap you said legally. As a 43 year old man, drinking heavily and hanging out with younger people sometimes works. Otherwise, show up late in the day and nap under a tree during sets you don't necessarily love. Pick your battles

Late nights at Shaky Knees are rough to make it through especially if the weather isn't ideal. I agree that taking it easy during shows you're not excited about is a good help.
