I would get a hold of someone who works with the ticketing over a 2 yr old FB post before I tattooed myself. But I'm a tattooless nerd so what do I know.

They never responded to my email last year. I think they’re definitely regretting the tattoo offer because more people are doing it than they thought. But at the same time, they can’t stop giving the tickets because it’d be a PR nightmare.
I actually wouldn't mind a piece that had representation of the festivals I went too.. the roo circles, a Firefly, the wayhome W... Maybe on the leg. Throwaway pieces go on the leg

I keep trying to get in touch with them, they’ve ignored me on several social media sites asking. I also always see people asking in their random posts comment section, they never respond. I think they really do regret it and don’t want people to actually go through with that cause they resize people will just to go to something somewhat expensive for free for life. Especially when your fest caters to rock/metal/punk/indie fans that already probably have a good bit of tattoos

that’s what I’m doing. I want the Roo circles and the shaky logo on the back of my leg next to each other. I thought it would be clever to get it tattooed right above the back of my legs right above the knees, cause Shaky... Knees.. get it. Would be better if someone literally gets it on their knee cap, but I don’t want to look that guy.

I don't have any tattoos yet but I've been wanting the Newport Folk logo for a few years. Just figure it's not the best first tattoo

Looks like The National will close out the fest. They just announced tour dates and have shows on the 4th and 5th. Big Thief is opening those shows so I think they're a safe guess for an add. Also no more hope for an MGMT add, they have a show at the Roxy in March.
They just announced David Byrne is playing Asheville the Tuesday after SK. Makes it seem likely he will be on Sunday.
Wrong. Went to his website, he's booked for the Ryman for the Sunday of SK. It reads on his website May 4th, Central Park - Atlanta, GA and then the next line says Shaky Knees for May 4th - May 6th. Not even factoring that in, Friday seems very likely. He's booked for 6 shows over 8 days between May 6th - May 13th.
Wave Fest Right? I was there too. I forgot that cake played!
Wow, you're old too!...yep, Wave Fest. I think that was the local alt station(96 Wave)...i think there was another good band i'm forgetting? Edit- according to setlist fm,the other two acts were Billy Pilgrim and Wilco...wish i was seeing that lineup again today!
Yes, I am old Going to hit 40 this year. I listened to 96 wave a lot back then. I went in 95 and 96. I was not a big Wilco fan then. Present day me wants to kick past me for not paying more attention to them. I want to say David Lowery of Cracker played a solo set. I can't remember which year Big Head todd and the Monsters played. Pretty sure they headlined 95 or 96.

I'd be quite happy if Big Thief were added. Also they should add the courtneys and have them and waxahatchee play a late night show together. That is just me being hopeful.

Jesus Christ y'all weren't kidding about Greta Van Fleet ripping off Led Zeppelin. Listening to them for the first time and I am shocked, confused, angry, and embarrassed all at the same time.
Is it a lot more likely Jack plays Friday than Saturday? Really hoping he ends up Saturday as I have a final Friday morning and plan to just get a day pass on his day. He's almost certainly playing Beale St. Fest that weekend too, so I suppose it could be either.
Friday and Saturday are pretty stacked for me, and Sunday is a little bit on the thin side.
Friday: This would be an awesome day.
Chicano Batman > Andrew WK > some downtime > Franz Ferdinand > David Byrne > Cake > Jack.
Cap that off with a QOTSA or D late night, and baby you got a stew goin'. Ambitious, I know, but I could see either happening.
Saturday: Basically parking myself at Peachtree all day, only skipping Greta Van Fleet to see some of Waxahatchee and Parquet Courts.
Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever > Parcels > Wax/Parquet > Japandroids > Tenacious D > Queens of the Stone Age.
Again, pretty solid day. Black Angels or Franz late night would be a nice way to soothe that conflict from the day before. Andrew WK in a small room sounds like a life-affirming experience. TWOD or BRMC from Sunday would also be pretty badass.
Sunday: Again, a little bit thin early on for me. Good opportunity to go hard the night before and sleep in.
Jimmy Eat World (in time for the last song) > Manchester Orchestra > Fleet Foxes > The War on Drugs > The National
Even the stuff I like and look forward to on this day I'm not super familiar with. Certainly not on the same level as stuff like Queens, Jack, the D, Byrne, Franz, etc. That will change by the fest for sure.
a pretty bite-sized introduction to every artist on the lineup. Good for people who don't know a lot of the undercard (bc to be fair, neither do i) and i've made SK playlists since 2015 so if you're looking for a throwback, feel free to check them out
When dilemmas like that trouble me, I go with the one that sounds cool or tough, rather than the more whimsical one. I kind of like Fleet Foxes but if you go to see a band with a name like Black Rebel Motorcycle Club you can automatically claim badass status, especially among people who don't know what you're talking about. Not a huge BRMC fan but the name is the tie breaker.
I also lean towards bands with "black" in the name - Black Keys, Black Lips, Black Angels, Black Flag, Black Sabbath, Black Mountain, Lady Smith Black Mambazo, etc. Double tie-breakers for BMRC.
EDIT: I know that was a mock, but why not share my flawed logic.
I’m gonna try out this ambassador program this year. If y’all wanna help me out and get a ticket through me let me know!
How does that work? Haven't bought mine yet. Anything in it for the buyer?
I believe someone just buys their pass through a special link and the ambassador gets “points”. After so many points you’re eligible for a pass. Unfortunately I don’t think there are any benefits for the buyer
