hotel booked - going to this almost no matter the line-up since with this niche it is almost guaranteed to interest me. The National and Arcade Fire would be my top 2 wishlist
Is it weird that we don't know the dates for Shaky Knees yet?
I feel like it is. Doesn't help either that one of those weekends I'd have finals and the other I wouldn't
In 2015 I had the AP US History exam the day of Shaky Knees. Surprised I was able to even get a 3 considering I spent the whole exam thinking "holy shit I'm going to see the Strokes tonight"
Anyone know if Brand New could be realistically considered to play? Granted there's like next to no dates for them but wondering myself
They played Shaky Knees in 2015. SK has had multiple acts come back sooner than that, so it would be more on if Brand New is playing shows at that time.

I'd assume they will be. If they follow through on their plan to break up at the end of next year, I'd imagine they'll stay pretty busy between now and then
Was still holding out a faint hope Ought could return to SK but these dates rule them out.
Question for more knowledgeable people (everyone) on here - Would Yeah Yeah Yeahs be big enough to headline? Just trying to think of possible female headliners.

Arctic Monkeys - QOTSA - Yeah Yeah Yeahs would be a great lineup for Music Midtown 2013 Shaky Knees 2018!
Sweetwood used to do some booking for Midtown. I know he had a good say in 2016 but I don’t know about 2013
He didn't in 2013. Shaky goes after a lot of bands for headliners that pre-HLed Music Midtown in the past. Florence, Avetts, Jane's Addiction, Phoenix, and now QOTSA all pre-HLed Music Midtown in 2012/2013.

Any alt-j reviews from last night?...i'm headed tonight.
saw them Saturday night in asheville and they were phenomenal. They light show is really cool too, but they put on one of my favorite shows ever, I was also on the rail for it so that got me more excited. They play a lot from An Awesome Wave too. If you’re a big fan, they’ll play everything you want to here from them.

How much does security crack down on the whole 18+ thing a Shaky Beats? If the lineup is similar to 2016's I'll go, but I need to figure out if I need to get a fake
Am I the only one who thinks Arctic Monkeys and Vampire Weekend are impossible? Yes, I'd love to see them, but neither have put out new music or toured in years. Unless there's a new album or unexpected tour, I don't see it happening. And then what about Bon Iver? Just saw them a couple nights ago and it was incredible. The festival is 6 months away and Bon Iver has been touring like crazy. Do y'all think they'll do the festival circuit this year? I'd love to see them as headliners

Both AM and VW are in the finishing stages of their next albums. People aren't just randomly predicting them.

Arctic Monkeys and Vampire Weekend both have albums coming in 2018 so they are most definitely possible. As for Bon Iver, they already did their festival shows for 22, A Million, so I dont really see a reason for them to come back

God I'd give anything for Bon Iver to headline. Had to miss them last week and they're one of my all time favorites Still heartbroken tbh. I know it won't happen though.
I could see Vampire Weekend or Arctic Monkeys happening. I love VW, not big on AM. There would have to be another headliner I really love and a great undercard if two of the headliners were AM + QOTSA. Just not a huge fan of either.
What does anyone think about that rumor of a Smashing Pumpkins original lineup reunion? I could see SK booking them as a headliner if that happened. Don't really know how credible or likely that is though.
v sad about the news about Jesse Lacey. Extremely disappointing. I will not be supporting them if Tim tries to book them for SK
I think they're pretty much done at this point. I know 2018 was going to be the end any way, but I see them just cancelling their remaining dates.
Yeah their touring guitarist quit, support acts have pulled out and I don't see them being able to continue after Jesse admitted to everything. It would just be too uncomfortable and weird. I don't think there are many people who would still support them after this.
