v sad about the news about Jesse Lacey. Extremely disappointing. I will not be supporting them if Tim tries to book them for SK
I think they're pretty much done at this point. I know 2018 was going to be the end any way, but I see them just cancelling their remaining dates.
Unfortunately... they just "postponed" their UK shows. I was only able to justify leaving their set in '15 because I told myself I'd see them again and it looks like that won't happen.
What Jesse did was terrible and I hate that the person who made music that resonates so well with me did those things. This is the last way I'd want to see one of my favorite bands go out.

Hangout fest just dropped. Would like to see CWK, Hippo Campus, the Struts as crossover. Manchester Orchestra already been mentioned and it wouldn't surprise me if we get Grouplove too.

Alex Lahey and Sunflower Bean fit the SK brand pretty well.
And no shots here but Cold War Kids and The Struts were both there in 2016 so I hope they do not come back so soon.

Grouplove playing this would actually make a lot of since. A lot of people missed them at Music Midtown 2016 due to the evacuation and they cancelled their tour at the beginning of the year

Sunflower Bean was just at Music Midtown. CWK was also here both even years so far so maybe Shaky could be doing CWK every even year and Dr. Dog every odd year.
Listening to Welshly Arms right now and I could also use them here too.

also The Frights are apparently playing this. The bassist told a friend a mine after their show was cancelled last might at the masq due to the shooting

I really only want Pussy Riot, Tash Sultana, and St. Vincent off that lineup. But, would not be surprised to see Foster the People as the #2 or even the #1 on one of the days.

Yikes. Weak lineup. Honestly hope there no crossover unless it's smaller bands. I'm sorry but I really, really don't want Foster the People or St. Vincent to take up a headliner or subheadliner spot.

St. Vincent is already out as she is playing at the Tabernacle 2/17. FtP could possibly pre-HL but not HL here. Shaky usually shares some of Hangout's undercard acts (there were 6 in 2017), but with them being two weeks apart rather than one for 2018 that might change a little bit.

yeah.. definitely weaker than this year's lineup, not sure there's anything unique/eyecatching enough to justify the expense + time (also lol @ chainsmokers headling saturday, ew).
Sure, being on the beach is nice for a fest, i've been to hangout twice, but even with fun people and lots of booze... if you have a lot of gaps between sets you want to see, it can get pretty "wtf did I pay all this money for".

Agree, and after going through the undercard, Glorious Sons and Caroline Rose seem possible.

Someone posted this on r/shakyknees. Franz Ferdinand is touring the states spring next year. Here's a block of tour dates relevant to SK:
May 02, 2018 /// Saint Louis, MO May 07, 2018 /// Dallas, TX
I could definitely (and hopefully) see them hitting up SK along with some stops along the southeast. Saw them at hangout this year, really fun set (maybe biased because I had been wanting to see them since hs).

They were also asking if they would be a headliner. I don't know enough about this fest's history other than I have liked most of the lineups. I don't think they would be. Maybe second line?
There are some cheap flights to ATL that weekend. If the lineup hits on anything my GF likes, we may make it a trip.

Yeah I don't see them being a headliner since they haven't really been all that huge in the states lately. Probably 2nd-3rd line, most likely 3rd.

They were 18th at Hangout behind Young the Giant. They for sure are not a HL.

One of my favorite sets at Hangout this year. It would be nice to see them again.

Hangout lineup blows and is super cringey, aside from P.tM, Kendrick, and Sunflower Bean. SB are amazing live, saw them at MM this year. I hope they play SK but I'd love to see them at a headlining gig again for their new album whenever it drops
Anyone think NIN could be a possibility for this? I feel like they'd fit the Shaky vibe.
I think they fill the LCD slot for rock/electronic that would play Knees over Beats, I and everyone else in my group would be estatic for them to be there.

Someone on one of Robin's instagram posts asked why they weren't playing Atlanta. He said they'd be announcing soon and I commented that it might be because they're playing this and Robin liked the comment.
