I probably won't make it back (at least next year) but this was a really cool festival. The lineup might have been meh but everything else about it was awesome.

Planning on making this my first fest next calendar year, Florida in march is enough alone to make me want to go down there.
This is probably dumb but can't remember. Is this fest on a beach?
It's not on a beach, but part of the grounds sit on a small lake that is cleared out as a makeshift beach. It's actually pretty cool. "Okeechobee village", which includes the beach area, allows whatever you want to bring there. So I brought a cooler with beers and blew up a flamingo raft and laid out in the sun on the lake one afternoon. There's a couple stages right by/on the beach too.

Thanks man have heard great things about this fest. Also am pretty local to hangout fest which we love the beach so had been hard to pass on but could only do one or the other and have honestly thought this year about trying this one out!
also Chance The Rapper - Phoenix - Calvin Harris - Weezer
It sold out both years just a few days before the festival began.
That doesn't necessarily mean they were sold out. They could have just stopped selling tickets at some point to make it look like they did. Bonnaroo does that.
I've been wanting to try this fest out but its proximity to SXSW makes it a hard sell. That being said, I have been wanting to take a year off from SX so I may make this happen. Line ups have been mediocre but the experience, as stated above, seem to be a strong selling point.
Foo Fighters - Arcade Fire - Tame Impala - Bassnectar
I'd love it but wayyyy too lofty. Those are 3 of the Top Rock Headliners in the world. Arcade Fire may be #1 in the world by that point if their new album is a hit.

They will probably continue booking one rock headliner, a hip hop/rap act, and Bassnectar as the top 3. I could see Arcade Fire - The Weeknd - Bassnectar.

I would be so happy with this, although I hope bassnectar isn't there. But I know he is.
I hope they get a classic rock headliner this year...Maybe the boss? It would change things up and I'm sure would bring in a lot of people from all around Florida.
Another bit of good news for music fans: After the meeting, Mr. Collinsworth confirmed that Sounslinger plans to host two music festivals at the Sunshine Grove site in 2018. He said the second festival will be different from the original Okeechobee Music Festival, but declined to give details.
I hope the new fest is more EDM so that Okeechobee can stay more eclectic with its booking! Although I have a feeling it'll be a country fest. South Floridans will eat that shit up.

Nothing appeals to large Latino populations like American Country
