Okeechobee is now the Bassnectar festival. Good luck evolving beyond that.
That's what is most disappointing about this. It's pretty clear the top formula is stuck as "One actual headliner + Bassnectar + pop/hip hop trash".
Sucks to think what could have been. I actually tried to justify this lineup for like 5 minutes because I've never seen Arcade Fire and camping festivals are fun. But I don't think I can do it.

I did the same thing just because of how much I enjoyed the Arcade Fire show from this tour.I hope someone can do a 2nd fest at the location at some point.
This lineup makes Hangout look impressive. And I thought the Hangout lineup was pretty wack.
That's ridiculous even if you want to hate to be hating. Lay it out and defend your position.
Shit I'd see at Hangout (and how much 1 not much 5 for sure)

No dice. If you like pop acts, Hangout is the king. Most of the acts I like at Hangout I've already seen, and there aren't many I'd want to see. I could further list shit you couldn't pay me to see and Hangout would be ahead by miles over Okeechobee. Okeechobee, however, I've seen the majority of the lineup already. Even stuff I didn't name as wants (Jai Wolf, Leon Bridges, Zed's Dead, Local Natives) is generally better. Then again, they have the spit drinking of Too Many Zoos.
Yeah if you do the GA Portal Pair Pass which is 2 GA passes and a camping pass it comes out to $353 per person after everything.
I just don't think I can justify it since I just saw Arcade Fire in September. Such a bummer, I love this venue so much.
I remember thinking that this festival was steep last year, this year the portal pair passes don't seem as steep to me...but it is too steep for me right now. And the whole no festivals next year bullshit that I keep telling myself so I can save money.

Doesn't look like you will miss much. I'm thinking I might try for Lockn' if they impress with the lineup. Anything else I do will likely only be local to Texas. I only want to travel for a fest if it's camping.
Damn with fees this ends up being almost $400 with a car camping pass. I swear I paid like $220 last year and that included camping.
I keep trying to convince myself "maybe the vendors and workshops will balance out for the 4-5 acts (and that's even pushing it) I want to see to justify spending this much" but it really is hard. This lineup is a huge let down. I applied as a volunteer photog so if I get approved maybe that'll seal the deal but otherwise I'm really not sure if its worth the investment.
Not for me. Hangout has worse shit on there, but what I like on Hangout, I like more than Okee.
Arcade Fire is better than anything except Kendrick. Bassnectar and Tipper and Gramatik are better than all EDM at Hangout combined. 5 or 6 Jam acts as well. I look at it as a 2 1/2 Star lineup vs a 1/2 star lineup. And that’s mostly because of the cooler EDM and Jam.
Also Pouya is rap for Todd. He’s the dude in the Ghostface Killah remix of Dat $tick. I don’t know him elsewise but people like him
I think some1 else said something similar but idc about the Hangout edm because I'm not big on edm anyway. Kendrick and AF are a wash, but give me St Vincent, .Paak, Greta Van Fleet, and Portugal over basically everything on this lineup. The jam acts are fine but they're a dime a dozen among multiple fests. I would see them if I was there but none of them would get me excited to make a trip there. Obviously I'm not going to either but there's some stuff on Hangout's lineup I'll be legit bummed I missed this year if they don't end up at Roo or Lolla.

All you guys complaining are ruining the festival vibes before it even starts.
Arcade fire is STUPID expensive to book. Tipper is selective as hell with which festivals he appears at that are not his own. IF big grizmatik is the pow wow leaders it will be the first time the three played together at this festival ever.
And this is phase one. Last year Logic, sturgill simpson, 12th planet, GWN, were all on phase two.
Be thankful for what we get guys. For this to be the festival’s third year running...im actually impressed with the diversity. Show love, spread love❤️

If music festivals were free, this would be the appropriate attitude to go in with

This would be decent value at last year's price ($220ish). Now that you're talking $400 everything said and done, that's basically the same price as the biggest festival's in the country.

There's a lot of stuff I like on here. If I could go to this fest for $250-275 all in, I'd buy a ticket now. But after car camping, taxes, and fees I'm looking 1t $400 JFC. This is only 2 hr away and I love lots of stuff on this lineup but it's really hard to justify $400 for this.

I'm on board with the idea that the Okeechobee lineup is more well-rounded, but for me personally, there's a couple more things at Hangout - .Paak, Manchester Orchestra, Kendrick, and St. Vincent - that I would be legit excited about even if the rest is trash. Okeechobee has 1.5 acts I'm passionate about - Arcade Fire and Theivery Corporation. There's basically 4 headline acts that I would actively avoid seeing. I've gone the past two years and have done my best to avoid the Nectar if at all possible cause it's just not my thing. Now they're basically doubling down on it. If I'm dropping a grand (at least) on going to one of these things with my partner, I should have more than a couple of things I'm excited to see. It's hard to justify the gruel of a camping festival for 4 days + price if I'm not passionate about the acts. It's a shame because I really had high hopes for what this thing could be.
TL;DR: I'd rather have a handful of stuff I REALLY like in a lineup, even if the rest sucks, than a whole bunch of stuff that I'm lukewarm on. Also I don't know as much about music as you guys.
The response seems pretty negative from all corners of their fanbase.
Some favorite comments:
"How do you go from wiz logic flume russ usher rae sremmurd griz waka griz kings of leon young the giant to this. Good lineup but not nearly as great as last year."
"Are you shitting me ? Only reason chobee fest was lit because of hip hop and electronic , stop adding shitty boring trumpet playing artist that makes the crowd yawn ! Damn !"
"Lol if y'all don't realize just how wild 2 nights of nectar, tipper, and zeds dead is to have on one lineup, then I give up. Y'all are crazy"
"youre INSANE if you dont think this lineup is incredible"
