Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I am admittedly different in that I have been doing this longer than many, have a wider genre spectrum than most, and go to SO MUCH LIVE MUSIC and SO MANY FESTIVALS in general. I stage hop way more than most to try out all the new experiences I can, and learn who to catch at individual shows. But I still don't quite get what it takes to please some of you:-)
There is so much goodness on this lineup. Sure you have seen a ton of it before, but of the few acts you haven't seen what are the odds a single festival will capture many of them? There is not one single act on here I am excited about that I haven't seen before already, and I still love it.
Arcade Fire doesn't do much for me personally, but they have some outstanding songs and moments live ('Wake up'!). Seen Bassnectar a bazillion times, some middle of the road but many outstanding (and always an excellent glow stick war). Halsey was surprisingly good at Bonnaroo, outstanding stage presence (and cool Fleetwood Mac cover with Tycho). Flaming Lips in that environment will be the greatest thing ever (NOTHING beats 'Do you realize??" live, top 3 greatest song ever written!). Foster the People rule, new album is so good ('Doing it for the money'!, 'Sid and Nancy'). Thievery and their 9 million band members. Jai Wolf's ridiculous 'Indian Summer' live again. Quinn XCII was outstanding hip hop, had never heard of him before catching his Firefly set. Clozee. So many more. Even pre-research there are a bunch of good acts in the small print. Can't wait to discover more favorites, just like last year.
Different than catching individual bands and concerts, a festival is about the whole experience. The more new ones I do, the more it is all about the environment and crowd it attracts. And even within that crowd, you personally will influence those around you more than most realize. It isn't just about the bands on the lineup anymore. Where else can you get not just the normal stages...but also a beach stage, jungle stage, and a fire stage? Plus a couple of random art stages, areas, and attractions? Hanging out all these different places is magical. Chilling on the beach, in the sun, snuggled in my beach vagina (wind hammock), drinking my own high quality ipa's out of a cooler was bliss. Not 24 hours anymore, but the night goes as late as you actually need. This venue is simply outstanding.
Bonnaroo still always has the best overall musical performances. Electric Forest has the unparalleled Sherwood Forest experience. Coachella always has the best overall lineup. Hangout always has the beach, gorgeous vibe. Firefly has wonderful performances too, a nice focus on alt with fun electronic and decent hip hop thrown in (plus a brewery). We have more choice than ever before, something for everyone. Music just keeps getting better and better. Will finally catch EDC Vegas this year with the date move, and Hullaween after some trusted reviews. Still need to add Burning Man, Shambhalla, Tomorrowland, and so many other international festivals...but they will all come in time. If you only like one thing, then certainly go for that. But if you are doing a handful of festivals, I strongly recommend Okeechobee be on that list. Especially so early in the year.
This was the first time in history I ever purchased a pass to a camping festival pre-lineup drop. But the experience of the Portal was so good the first 2 years I went for the pre-sale. No regrats, Okeechobee is going to be another fantastic time. See you there?
Be fucking serious. I already did that shit 2 pages back (in a fair way). Nowhere on there did I list Galantis as some shit I wanted to see. Also, Slightly Stoopid is on both lineups. Zedd is for 15 year old girls. C'mon man.
im sure all the grownups will enjoy that lineup w/ Halsey as Headliner(better hope for a nectar set that day), travis Scott (lol), Kyle, Misterwives, Illenium (lol) MagIC!!!!!
Except you can't play fake news and make this shit up as you go along. I guess you can, the President does. But I specifically said:
Hangout, despite your desire that it's the greatest festival in the history of greatest festivals, is quacking high school. Okee isn't much beyond that and is geared to about the same age demographic
Anderson.Paak and The Free Nationals are fine. I've seen them multiple times. But that's pretty absurd. He's musical and entertaining, and the band is good. But again, absurd compared to some of the jam talent buried in on Okee's lineup. Also, nevermind.
I agree on Kendrick but I said that shit on Page 16.

HOF is just the same as it ever was. you enjoyed it.
I did. And I wish I still could outside of a select few acts. I'm not getting that back, so I'm okay with finding something else to do. Fuck, if Euphoria is worth anything this year, I might go back. And if I ditch ACL for Superfly Denver, I'm thinking I might even be running into you over there since the microgreen will be 4 months by then and perfectly able to be in attendance.
Who is Tipper and why is half of reddit freaking out about him.
? (thinking you're not being sarcastic there)
Tipper is very unique English producer who usually does a few select appearances each year - lately under the auspices of Tipper and Friends which they did twice at Spirit of Suwanee and once last year in Missouri. He's bringing 4 shows to New Orleans the first week of January. He plays a lot of different styles, and each of the NOLA shows are set to be completely different (downtempo, live, uptempo and whatever the 4th one is). His shows are known to be freaky, and the visuals are often exceptional. Elav8 saw him the last two years I think at SoSMP.

Such wasted opportunity here. Even if they went the Shaky Knees route just focusing on mainly one genre and sprinkled in some late night EDM this could be great.

I 100% stand by my comment
Again, I have seen them multiple times and have no hatred at all. But it's not in the same musical class as many of the other bands on that lineup, many of whom have serious virtuoso performers and jazz musicians. Anderson.Paak isn't really a Top 10 act on this lineup across the genres in my opinion. I will say that the last time I saw them in person (Fall 2016), was the best I have seen them yet. And they would be a show I'd try to see if I went.

But that's not really what this is, right? You could possibly hold a smaller festival there focusing on a Shaky Knees styled lineup. But this is a 1990's hippie kid dream fest. Bassnectar 3 years in a row at the top signals what it is. Okee to me is like a smaller Florida version of other, similar hippie festivals such as Electric Forest or slightly less jammy of a Bisco. Okee is developing its own identity, but I think it's obvious that bass and trippier shit is what they are going for.

Yea I mean that's true. The sad reality is that the "ideal" festival lineup which most of the people on Inforoo would like has been dying off in favor of the pop and EDM oriented crap for about three years. The only thing left is to go to Coachella where they have some budgeting flexibility to just book everything and you can choose the better stuff.
