Yeah I arrived at 10-11AM both years and never had to wait in a line. I drove through security both times and was set up within an hour. Take the back entrance.
So since we are driving in Wednesday, we should plan our timing to arrive around 10-11am on Thursday (it is a 12 hr drive for us about)?

Yeah I believe they start letting people in early morning like 8-9AM because when I show up there is already a few lots filled.
I have a feeling not a lot of people are going to be at Arcade Fire, considering they start and end so late on the final day. Also not sure how many bassheads care about Arcade Fire.
The festival closing set both years hasn't been very busy. I imagine AF will be the same way.

I think he'd be pretty happy DJ Windows 98 took off so well.

so Reddit is going crazy because apparently Okee changed their alcohol policies and called it a "typo". Originally, the rules said you can bring 2 cases of beer, 1 bottle of hard liquor, and 1 bottle/box of wine per car. Now the rules say 1 case of beer and 1 box of wine. Also new alcohol sponsors this year are Tito's and Corona. Interesting and a little BS if you ask me. Luckily it's just me and my friend in our car, but I can imagine groups of 4+ fuming over it.
The newest brouhaha is that Okee just up and announced no backpacks into the Grove. PR team just firing on all cylinders this week.
possible backlash from the recent florida shooting? i know we heard a bunch of talk around "no backpacks" at ACL after the vegas shooting happened weeks before.

But they didn't enforce that rule at all. They said it had to be a certain size and mine was way bigger.

A friend of mine over at Global Dance—they put on Decadence and other Denver festivals—told me a lot of festivals are being hit with stipulations behind closed doors due to the Vegas shooting.
I love that you can bring two unopened bottles of water into the grove, but you have to have a backpack that is either clear or that isn't large enough to carry those water bottles. Also, we are week out and these are the changes that they are making? How many people aren't even going to know. I wouldn't have if someone didn't post it here.

Exactly. No heads up or official announcement about it either. Sneaky jerks. Also the clear bags might as well have a big neon sign that says "hey look at all the stuff you can steal" Not cool Okee, not cool.

While I understand the changes with bags might be inconvenient for many, I'll never be against anything that helps to ensure the safety of everyone attending. The reality is, if anything ever did happen at a fest people would be asking why bags that could conceal things were allowed in.

I feel lucky that I saw that in an email. Otherwise I would've gotten turned down. Also, it says you can have any bags in the camping area and those stages, these rules are only in effect for 'The Grove' aka the three main stages where most of the big acts play
