Metro Area was awesome last night. They did a great job with the Jungle this year. Excited for Honey Dijon, Bone, and Volvox
I want to check out the jungle so bad and metro area is great, haven't seen them in ages. Volvox should be great, that whole Discwoman label is doing good things
I got face timed in on Tycho, Turkuaz and Sound Tribe. Those are 3 sets I would have seen tonight (part of Turkuaz because STS9 > ). All looked like great shows. I'm hearing the weather is excellent, and it looks like lots of party people having a good time with good music. I think our people are mostly hitting Tipper, Lettuce, Bassnectar then possibly Jungle 51, but there isn't 1 of 15 early-mid 20's kids I know there that listen to any house whatsoever though all are major EDM fans. I actually agree although many people I like and respect on Inforoo would completely disagree. To me, it would be a step down to come out of seeing DJ's like Tipper or Bassnectar to go see house or electrohouse DJs. However, if that's where the late night party is, that's where it's at. And if you feel like dancing or continuing on until dawn, do it.
One cool thing about Waka was that you'd get freaky overnight EDM stuff like Ott or Govinda at 4/5am. Of course the shit people were on kind of led them to that. I never was, but I did a couple overnights. I hope everyone there from here is having a blast.
Got a few minutes of Flaming Lips in midshow. It was kind of dark but I didn’t recognize if it was from The Terror or not. They opened with hits like Run for the Prize and She Don’t Use Jelly, but the part I saw was way more out there and sounding good. I heard Thievery was great too. Damn, but it’s been too long (15?) since I’ve seen them.

Jw if you've seen Turkuaz live before? I like Tribe a good bit, but Turkuaz at Roo last year was spectacular.
Yeah, I liked them a lot too. I also saw the stream last year from Bonnaroo and agree with you. No hate for anyone who would have chosen either way, I just like Sound Tribe more.

Wish I could have seen STS9 from the spot I had for Turkuaz. Hopefully less beachballs.
I just faced in with about 5 people. Daughter said she wasn't ready for Tipper and that Tycho was great. Thievery was great and Bassnectar. She was disappointed to leave G Jones because the Superjam was late getting going, but that was fun. They said Joey Bada$$ didn't come out, but Roots, Chaka Khan (sp?) and Snoop were out there having fun. Oldest and one of our friends both brought up Flaming Lips. "You're never super excited going into a Flaming Lips show, but you never leave disappointed." Everyone said Turkuaz was getting the f down. They said Denzel Curry was pretty good again and today still is Boogie T b2b Squnto, Orleans Ave., Big Wild, Gramatik, Arcade Fire and whatever else they're hitting. Cops were chill for the most part walking around and not really fucking with anyone, so that's cool. I don't know if that will be everyone else's experience, but it's whatever. Everyone said it's been kind of cold at night, but otherwise pretty perfect. So good for Okeechobee.
I wanna know how that full moon bassnectar set was.
Looks like a blackout at least for the intro. And very bass heavy as expected. The Friday set opened with a bassnectar remix of his Basshead. Only the intro to Full Moon set is up at the moment from my boy Blake who is a cool mfer. He’s the only one with any shit up yet, but that should change over the next week or two.
Intro to Friday show:
Tipper looking killer. He can give a different show every night with a completely different style. He’s easily a top modern DJ

Cops were mad chill in the venue. My friend was- out of it Friday night and had cops wanting to take pics of her with her totem all night
Have to think this is the last year they book an alt healdiner. Is it true there were less than 5,000 people at their set?
The pics make it look like a ghost town for their show, rail was available 10mins before their set time.
I thought I remembered seeing a tweet from them somewhere where they said "the rock headliner always closes the festival. our tradition" or something like that. Makes me think maybe they'll still try to do it?
Double post, no fucks given. Great weekend with my roo krewe. It started with me getting carded and kicked out of a liquor store because I look young (42 BITCHES!). We setup a full bathroom in between cars in the fire lane and learned from our neighbors we are #extraasfuck and made some new friends.
It was fucking cold at night. Much colder than I packed for, I slept in two sweaters and a onsies every night but Thursday. No lines getting in, were minutes from the Okeechobee beach stage/area. The festival's setup was nice and easy to get around. There were a bunch of bros and rude assholes, but that is everywhere. Other than the mom in me freaking out over some of the clothes these girls decided to wear, we had a really great time. Sylvan Esso as always didn't not disappoint and we very easily got front row viewing at theirs and other sets. So glad we decided to do this festival.

I wonder if a lot of people must have bailed for Sunday. I watched some of Shorty on the phone, and it looked like only a few hundred people were there. One thing about being that far out of the way, unless you fly in or if you're from the Peninsula or NE FL, it's a haul. Everyone got back home last night about 2:00am, and I was sleeping, so I didn't get the chance to talk about any of it with them. But when I saw how small the crowd was for Shorty, I figured that was probably going to be the way Sunday was going to go down.

Arcade Fire was DEAD. I could have gotten rail if I wanted. We lasted until the encore around 12:30pm. thejeremy didn't make it that long. The Okeechobee stage was in full force all day and so fucking packed, that I figured the kids were done by the time AF came on. I mean it was fucking dead. I was shocked at how empty that set was to be honest. They didn't seem to care, they rocked out and put on a great set.
When the lineup came out I saw people talking about how expensive Arcade Fire was to book. If that's actually the case, it's pretty sad how under attended the set was. I guessed that would be the case considering Okeechobee's demographic but starting the Sunday headliner at 11pm when everyone is already burnt out probably didn't help either.
But I seriously would have enjoyed all that dancing space if I was there.

The Great Jungle 51 (All of The artist I saw were great but Honey Dijon and Metro Area were the best) The lack of people there compared to the last two years. There were noticeably a lot less people then the past two years and it made it a breeze to get around, get good spots etc. The setup, Aquachobee, closeness to camp etc. Nightmares on Wax (Live) Sofi Tukker Thievery Corporation Tipper STS9 Poolside The Districts Two Feet Chicano Batman All the secret sets that popped up late night The weather The Closeness between stages making it easy to split sets. Two minute walk from one end to the other
The Good Theiv Corp Dj Set (House Set) Tycho Flaming Lips Arcade Fire Snoop w The Roots, Chaka Khan Local Natives Denzel Curry Funky Meters Sylvan Esso Trombone Shorty Khalid (This one really surprised me) Foster & the people (seen them 4 times, X10 better then the other times. Late night and my own state of mind probably helped) Hiss Golden Messenger
The meh Leon Bridges (Good, but Sunday night I’m fighting for energy to get through and this did not help that cause) Hippo Campus Flamingosis Too many zooz Mikky Ekko Ghost of Paul Revere Allah-Las Misterwives Big G
The Awful Judah and the Lion Travis Scott Halsey The weather at night Illenium

All the real right there. It was fucking miserably cold.
So attendence was DOWN overall? Does that bode well for this fest?
Edit: Agree with Fozzy, give me more cold weather fests. I cant deal with this 80-100 degree fun in the sun bullshit lol. Day For Night was so enjoyable with the brisk late Fall climate.

I like the cold weather but my girlfriend can’t stand it which then trickles into my own experience. Bummer.
Flamingosis just never really found an identity in the set. Kind of all over the place with transitions etc. I’d give him another chance though.
Travis I actually enjoyed at Roo last year. He doesn’t write great songs etc but it’s hype and fun for a set. I guess he had mouth surgery the night before and had stitches in his mouth so he didn’t rap much just screamed over his backing tracks. Also only played for 30 minutes total.
Halsey was a disaster, no stage presence whatsoever. She had fire though which was cool I guess.
Attendance was down but tickets were $60 more and they also introduced $60 camping passes for each car. I think the attendance had more to do with the price hike then anything. The ticket sales they lost they made up for with all the extra $$. At the festival they were having people sign up for loyalty for OMF19 so I’m sure they made out fine
Forgot to mention but Nombe and Nectar were also both good

We are talking low 30s/ high 40s at night. It was just way too cold to get decent sleep. Everyday leading up to the fest, I checked the weather and it kept changing. It was way colder than predicted on Wednesday morning or I would have dressed more appropriately and not have been as miserable. Seriously, I slept in two sweaters, one was wool, a onsies, two pairs of wool socks, with sweat pants and a t-shirt underneath. I would have packed a second comforter as well.

I hadn't been before, but it didn't seem crazy packed out there. I also got the portal pair pass that included the camping pass.
