The stream right now is Golfish or Haywire. Like what flavor of AIDS would I like tonight?
It has successfully quashed any feelings of FOMO for this year music wise.
Looking at the streaming schedule, I think there's 3 shows I'm excited for. Claude VonStroke, UM, and the Remain in the Light show. Other than that...eh? Oh, and Kevin Morby.
Goldfish is fucking horrible. That little fucking sax needs to die a slow death.
And they better be streaming the LN UM set, not the bullshit Sunday one. I can already feel my hopes being crushed.
I just got home from work so I was checking out Haywire to see the changes to Other. I was expecting more out of it. Figured they would have some more lighting then there is.

It's an upgrade for Bonnaroo, but it still falls short of what the other major fests can do at this point.
How many years ago did we get screens at the tents, 3 years ago?

That sounds about right as far as the screens go. Hopefully they continue to modify and improve it. Of course I'd give up the improvements for a lineup worthy of bringing me and my friends back next year.
I would love to have been in the crowd for Hippo Campus and Mondo Cozmo
I was digging hippo campus but I actually couldn't stand the crowd where I was at. People wouldn't stop talking. I was towards the back of the tent though.

I just caught the last few minutes of Haywyre. He was sampling some MJ with a funk electro beat and playing a keyboard over it, honestly it looked like fun to me. The rest of the set might have been garbage, I've never listened to Haywyre before now.

Haywyre and Goldfish looked fun to me. But I'm not an EDM expert. Seemed to be relatively small amounts of jumping with their hands in the air, at least.

I thought the same thing when I saw pics online. Underwhelming to say the least.
And no streaming for me tonight. I figure seeing Tool live for the first time is a better use of my time.
Regarding The Other Stage, I agree with everyone that I expected more in terms of lights and production, but it's still a big improvement over the tent. For years The Other was absurdly packed for any popular headliner, and it had the worst sight lines of any stage because the tent blocked views due to the way to ground slopes downward to the stage. Take away the tent and that same downward slope becomes an advantage, because people further back can look down towards the stage above the heads of the people in front of them.

If we're comparing, Goldfish is The Beatles compared to Case Bloom.
the crowd at Case Bloom is the most bored looking crowd I've seen.
Having said that, the guy is looping in vinyl with digital tracks, and the few minutes I've listened to is fun. Some Future, now a Jimi Hendrix mash up. IMO I'd rather be listening to this than Goldfish playing soft pop songs.
