I also love how Red Bull is showing how many people are watching Gorillaz stream, but have turned off the watching counter for all 3 Bonnaroo streams because they're obviously super low hahahaha.
I would have enjoyed myself at this Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real set.
I'm at my dads til 8, so I missed it. For whatever reason, Neil Young with PotR was my favorite show of 2016. So they were part of it. I found them a little more country-ish than Crazy Horse, but they still rocked. Is this set more country or Americana?

What I caught of the set had a Southern Rock feel to it. Oh, man. I would have drove back to NOLA for that if I hadn't just drove down to Austin only to find out Levitation had been cancelled upon arrival. I actually passed up four opportunities to see NY & Promise of the Real over that whole debacle.
It was crazy because of the slop pit aspects and the one crack of lighting at a crazy moment when Young was making a point. I think the nearly 30 mins version of Cortez the Killer helped make up my mind. Random show for me to be Top 1 out of at least 150 sets or shows. But I dug it.
I'm looking at Head and Heart, Big G (bumped to earlier time slot), Cage & Portugal split then at least some of RHCP for tonight.
This girl in the head and the heart must have the same stylist as Stevie wonder
I kinda like them. I remember running across them in like 11 or 12 at I think Voodoo. And while it's not my typical shit I see, I respect them and feel kind of like Band of Horses in that they are usually a plus musically for any lineup. I don't listen to Rezz, but I don't hate her. Buku gave her the promotion this year from the Back Alley to Float Den after Gramatik did that remix. She's got a different style. Not sure what's on channel 2 as I'm biding my time for later. I think I'm going to try Big G next. They've been hot and cold for me but I liked the last stream a couple weeks back which reversed me going south on them. I think I will watch Portugal after that based on the reviews here even though I just saw them again a few weeks ago and then the RHCP

Oh I dig them, too. I just can't believe that girl's clothes. They definitely miss that guy who left the band cuz he was hooked on heroin or something.
It looks like Jennifer Hartswick and Natalie Cressman of all their projects and Trey Anastasio Band are backing Dom and Jeremy at this Big G show at least for this GRiZ cover. I was told the show went til like 3:20 or so

I've tried Big G a couple of times. It's just too wompy for me. Then again, the sound of the pipes at the mushroom fountain last year reminded me of Skrillex. Just not my thimg I suppose.
I'm pretty excited for this Portugal. set. It's been a few years since I've been back to roo, but this type of set makes me really miss being there.
I can't wait for this set. I heard they cover metallica. They're 4 year veterans of roo and they're finally playing late night. This set should be special!

Right on. Seeing them play on the Mr. T float, and being joined by Weird Al the year John wore the raincoat were both highlights. This would have been a cool trifecta of special shows.
Y'all should be watching PTM. They're about to go into a 15 minute jam
I am. It's on the tv with the sound on. I was trying to think of how many times I've seen them but I'm not sure. 2 Bukus a Hangout a Waka and at least one local show. They have never disappointed me but that's the band that parties more than I do.
As for RHCP, the group think line is they phoned it in a long time ago. I heard that in 2012 at Bonnaroo, but we had just seen them 2 weeks before at Hangout so I knew the setlist would be a challenge for me for about half the show. Then they busted out Blood Sugar Sex Magic and it was on. Flea did a late soliloquy where he said he felt like he understood what Bonnaroo was (at that time). He said he wandered with his wife and kid and particularly gave the shout outs to St Vincent and Dumpstaphunk. He played as hard as he could, and it was pretty great in parts and if you knew you'd eventually get a bone
Btw, yeah this Portugal set is greatness. They have thrown in some Metallica, Weezer and now the Beatles.
