I fought hard for the forest stage. I liked having that and then the treehouse stage just for SVIP and contest winners. The treehouse stage area used to only hold 250 people and it was awesome and some of the best sets I've ever seen were on the forest stage.
Mike fight like hell to bring back the Beercade! Loved that damn thing!
Hate to be the bearer of bad news but they already responded to someone saying it's not coming back. It would be pretty hilarious (in a bad way of course) if they brought back "The Fort" that was universally hated but not the beercade.

Yea they aren't bringing back the beercade from what I've read as well. It'd be nice if they'd announce some of the stuff that's going to be in the festival this year. I'm anxious to see if Goldenvoice is going to make very many changes.

I’ve never understood the appeal of the beercade, but to each his own I guess. I think the fort is cool but needs to be enhanced with some more vendors, shade cover and activities. There will be announcements and contests etc coming but we had to get through the lineup announcement and first days of ticket sales first.

A/C, free arcade games and beer, in between sets when there was nothing going on, was always a nice change of pace.
I walked over to the fort once last year, went up top (which I needed a playing card from the security guard to get up there for some reason), looked around for a few minutes and then left. Not sure what the appeal of the fort was supposed to be at all. The view of the Lawn and/or Porch stage wasn't much to write home about either. I may have walked past one other time and gotten food from one of the food trucks there, but the food trucks just as easily could have been there without the fort.
I know Firefly isn't technically an "Arts" festival, but I would have much preferred some sort of art installation, that is at least visually appealing when entering the festival from the main gates instead of 3 shipping crates.

The playing cards let them know how many people are up there at a given time. If the security guard runs out of cards it means there are 52 people up there. They do it on the main stage on the viewing lofts too.

If people had known the fort was going to be what it was, I doubt anyone would have voted for it. I think I brought it up before, but the picture they had of it during the voting looked completely different. It looked like a cool multi level bar with garden decorations built into it.
Another interesting thing about this Kendrick tour. The only festivals that got him this year so far have been Goldenvoice, but his tour is Live Nation.
Gonna guess Killers are Friday, AM in the Bob Dylan 8:30 - 9:45 slot then Eminem (11 PM - 12:30 AM) on Saturday, Kendrick on Sunday
For the sake of selling more day passes - I would think they'd wanna keep Eminem alone on his day since he's the number 1 and should move the most tickets.
Huh...that's a bit of a curveball since Martin Garrix is playing a Swedish Fest either the 15th or 16th. Not sure who plays the big Friday post-headliner DJ set on the Backyard Stage.

With Odesza having to play Sunday and Garrix having to plenty Saturday, hopefully they'll give some late night sets to some rock bands on Friday the way that Roo does. PTM and MGMT would both me cool. Royal Blood too.

Also pretty much confirms that killers or AM are going in that Bob Dylan slot Saturday.
