is it? they are missing the DC area live nation stop to go to Merriweather
This might be a stupid question, but how does this work? I would assume they have a deal with Live Nation. Do they just not include D.C. in the contract as part of the cities LN can book for them? It probably is a simple answer, but I've always wondered how that works.
11/19: Caribou 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol

i got no idea. id imagine that Live Nation didnt want to book them at Jiffy Lube Live as it was too big and they let them find a venue in that area?

AM is playing dates elsewhere on Saturday the 16th and Monday the 18th. Thus, Friday is mostly likely for them at Firefly. Does this imply they will be sharing the main stage with Slim Shady?

Yeah that cements them for Friday since Kendrick is a lock for Sunday and they wouldn't put 2 HL'ers on Sunday.
Em could also play solo Saturday, which I still think the fest will want to do because he can move a ton of single day passes by himself.
Killers/Arctic Monkeys main stage B2B would make Friday amazing

Frankly, I'm kinda disappointed that AM and Kendrick won't be playing on back-to-back days. Could have made for a fun half-festival at discounted prices.

Not sure if this was already discussed but is a Portugal late night set possible? It wouldn’t fit the trend of last year but I know they would kill it.

Sure I think it's definitely possible. Last year feels like an outlier with the 5 headliners. In the past alt rock acts have done late night sets (St Lucia, XAmb)
I think Eminem will be the sole headliner on Saturday, so could definitely see Portugal the Man getting a post Em Backyard Stage set.
Friday Arctic Monkeys • Foster the People • Logic • Cold War Kids
Saturday Portugal The Man • Martin Garrix
Sunday Kendrick Lamar • Odesza • SZA • Alt-J
Friday or Saturday Eminem • The Killers
Foster The People could be Friday or Saturday based off their tour dates, though I think Friday is more Likely. I have a hunch MGMT will be Friday as well due to thinking that them, Portugal, and Alt-j will fill in the pre-headliner backyard stage show. Also thinking Big G is prob a safe bet for Friday night, same reasoning with Odesza and Garrix taking up the Saturday and Sunday late night spots which leaves Big G for Friday.
I agree but they have the 16th and 17th open as well
Yeaa they do, I just think it would be pretty odd routing if they were to go from DC on the 11th, then NYC on Friday the 15th, then back down to Dover on the 16th or 17th, then up to Boston on the 18th, then back down to Philly on the 19th. It's either:
DC > Dover (Thursday) > NYC > Boston > Philly
DC > NYC > Dover (Saturday/Sunday)> Boston > Philly
Sunday is shaping up to look pretty great, I'd be completely sold on a day ticket if MGMT, Royal Blood, and Everything Everything were also closing out the weekend.
03/14 - Thievery Corporation 04/25 - Black Country, New Road 05/04 - In Flames, Gatecreeper 05/10 - Modern Life is War 05/21 - Spite, Bodysnatcher, Thrown 05/29 - Knocked Loose, Loathe, Show me the Body, Speed 06/02 - Bush 06/22 - George Thorogood 06/23 - Dillinger Escape Plan, Deadguy, Candy, Carbomb

With Alt-J, Kendrick, SZA, and Odesza all already slated for Sunday, that's a lot of additional talent to put on the least crowded day since it's Father's Day.

FYI here are some day by day you can plug in based on their own tour dates:
Jimmy Eat World- Friday Cold War Kids- Friday Royal Blood- Sat or Sunday Portugal the Man- Thur or Saturday (likely Saturday I'm assuming) Big Gigantic- Friday (lists on official site so I'd assume it's accurate)

Jimmy Eat World could also be Sunday. Or are you thinking that since they are playing a fest in Canada they won't want to cross the border twice to go back and forth?
Daily lineups and passes seem unusually late this year. Especially compared to other fests around this time like Roo. Can't decide if that's a good sign or bad sign for the fest sales.
