Jimmy Eat World could also be Sunday. Or are you thinking that since they are playing a fest in Canada they won't want to cross the border twice to go back and forth?
Daily lineups and passes seem unusually late this year. Especially compared to other fests around this time like Roo. Can't decide if that's a good sign or bad sign for the fest sales.
Pretty confident that is a good sign for sales.
It was out 3/14 last year, but this is not unusually late. It's been out later than this. In previous years a day schedule wasn't always put out, just the full schedule later on. Ticket sales are going well and a lot of people are excited for Firefly this year.

Yeah I get that it’s not that much later than years past but in this festival environment with how much competition there is, every major east coast fest that has released their lineup has their day by day schedule and day by day tickets out already. The fact that Goldenvoice doesn’t feel the need to have day by day tickets for sale yet is a good sign for how this fest is selling.

Oh yeah I don't doubt that sales are good this year. I'm just impatient and want to know if I should buy tickets to the US Open for Thursday or bother going to Night 1 of Firefly.

Oh I hear ya. I think a lot of people are getting excited. I would expect it any day

Oh yes should be wild, but I find attending golf tourneys can be pretty hit or miss depending on the event.
Also while Thursday Night usually is a whatever night talent-wise, skipping it means I'll be camping much further away and I'll be driving Friday morning instead of starting the first day off right with a bloody mary at the Hub.
We'll see how the daily lineups shake out but don't write off Thursday night musically just yet. Tycho in 2015 was the best set I've ever seen in the Pavilion.

I definitely agree with this. Dive is my spirit album, being able to see them live was incredible.
I don't understand anti-Thursday sentiment. Some of my favorite performances happen on Thursday. Shit, even Wednesday has had some legendary performances.
Sam Feldt and Robert Delong both gave epic Pre-Party sets. Local Natives, Tycho, Two Door Cinema Club, and Glass Animals have all been amazing Thursday night headliners. I can't imagine missing any one of those shows.
Both Local Natives and Two Door Cinema Club were amazing on a Thursday night. I also like doing the Pavilion on Thursday since it's markedly less crowded.
I remember I just sort of fell into Tyco’s set in 2015. But wow... Me and my friend just looked at each other like “Damnnn this is wild.”
I’m selfishly hoping for MGMT on Thursday, it’s be a stretch based on their billing but it’d be better for my planning.
I could get on board with this but it seems pretty likely it will be Chromeo. I'm fine with that. I've never seen them and haven't listened to them since like 2008 or 2009 but I've heard good things.

I don't think Chromeo will get me there on Thursday Night. MGMT probably would if there are a few other good acts.
Last year (didn't go) but they put a pretty entertaining night together with Glass Animals, Kaleo, Maggie Rogers, and OAR.

Honestly I don't blame you at all. Like I said before, I honestly haven't listened to Chromeo since like 2009 or 2010. I forget sometimes that they are a thing still. The only reason I know I'll be there Thursday is because I always do premier camping on Wednesday. The pre-party is easily one of my favorite things. I've never missed a single day of Firefly in it's history.
I honestly wasn't that impressed by Maggie Rogers, my girlfriend and I agreed she was alright but she seemed really nervous or something.
Neither of us are O.A.R fans, I think people like 8-10 years older are a lot more into them. We were still really impressed by their performance however. It was a great show. Glass Animals afterwards were so amazing. When Dave came out in the crowd for Gooey he was right in front of us.
Gotta wonder what the hold up is with the dailies at this point. Almost April, just strange.
Is it possible weekend pass sales are SO good they have no incentive to drop single day passes? I don't believe it but it could explain the hold up.
I mean I guess that would make sense, but with sales trending downwards across festivals that would be shocking if they were confident they could sell this out at 90,000.
The lineup is solid and definitely a crowd pleaser but it's not like its out-of-this-world or boasts a wow factor (like PJ or FM). You can see the headliners everywhere this summer (granted, that wasn't true for AM when this came out).

Who would FM be? I'm sure when you tell me I'll hate myself for not getting it.

Never mind it just hit me, Fleetwood Mac. I do hate myself, but not as much.

Why does everyone think this fest is selling so well? I imagine there was a snag in the finalization of the daily lineups and that's what the holdup is. Hopefully the daily lineups and tickets will drop next week or the week after.
03/14 - Thievery Corporation 04/25 - Black Country, New Road 05/04 - In Flames, Gatecreeper 05/10 - Modern Life is War 05/21 - Spite, Bodysnatcher, Thrown 05/29 - Knocked Loose, Loathe, Show me the Body, Speed 06/02 - Bush 06/22 - George Thorogood 06/23 - Dillinger Escape Plan, Deadguy, Candy, Carbomb

they havent put anything up on Everfest yet either. The everfest firefly discounts were up by around this time last year.
I can only speak for myself but it seems pretty clear that Eminem is moving tickets well this year from evidence from Gov Ball and Boston Calling, and this being AM's first date scheduled I bet a ton of AM fans bought tickets for this. Then The Killers and Kendrick are pretty great 3rd and 4th headliners from a selling perspective. Thats my prediction
The headliners are definitely solid, but all of which, except for Eminem, either have just played or are about to play the Philly, DC, Baltimore markets at mid-size venues (The Killers and Arctic Monkeys, The Anthem). And the rest of the lineup just kinda sucks with a few exceptions. I might try to make it on Sunday for Kendrick and Alt-J, but that's about it. If ticket sales weren't phenomenal out of the gate, then I have a hard time believing there's a lot of people clamoring for tickets now.
Also, in regards to Everfest, obviously this lineup is selling much better than last year's, when they were just giving it away. My wife's friends showed up to the fest at around 6pm on Sunday last year and bought VIP tickets for $20.

i've noticed that everfest has been doing things a lot closer to the date of the fests this year with the perks, but hope they put something up soon

I’d say Everfest is about a 50% chance at best this year.
11/19: Caribou 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol

If all I end up with out of Everfest is the 2017 $699 Firefly VIP for $300 it will be worth the $50 Everfest fee I paid. Yea this years lineup isn't really for me either for basically the reasons you said. I'm hoping MGMT is Thursday or Friday, so I can come down for the Wed preparty and stay through Saturday morning. I'll just pick up a cheap pass when I get there. Who's Friday's headliner looking like?

Based on their tour dates, Arctic Monkeys are Friday's headliner.
