I think it's bullshit that the AFC will likely put an 8-8 team into the playoffs while the Saints are sitting at 8-3 and are only a couple divisional losses away from not even making the playoffs at all.
I mean, it happens almost every other year that some sorry team makes it in, but it doesn't make me any less stressed about this season. We lose Okafor for the season and Lattimore for a few games and play two stronger offenses and BOOM it's like the wheels are falling off the wagon.
Saints are not as good as their record. Don't get your hopes up.
If the Jags make it out of the first round, the steelers do not want to see us. Defense and running game travel well and we already beat the shit out of them in week 5.
Whoever said the Jags are shit clearly hasnt been paying attention. Before last week we were number 1 in virtually every important defensive statistic and we were beginning to be talked about with the best defenses of the last 20 years. And btw we already beat the Chargers despite two ints from Bortles in the final 2 minutes of the game.
Having said that, Blake is shit. So while I think we could beat anybody in the playoffs with the best defense in the league, I think we could also lose to anyone due to Blake Bortles.
I may be rooting for the Jags cause I like a nice underdog story. But those defensive stats are a little misleading. Jags play colts twice without Luck, Texans twice without Watson, Cards without Palmer, Browns, Jets (a loss), Bengals, and assorted other trash. Jags did have a nice defensive effort against steelers. The only other good offensive team they have played is Rams and they gave up 27 and lost there. Also, Fournette may wear down in playoffs a rookie Rbs usually do in the long NFL season. He's already slowing down. Not rooting against ya just trying to keep it real for ya. Robinson WR injury in quarter 1 of week 1 didn't help either.
We havent played the colts twice yet.
When we played the Rams, the defense only gave up 10 or 13 legitimate points depending on how you want to spin it. Special teams gave up 2 tds. You also casually left out the Chargers, where the defense forced a fumble, 3 and out and a near pick six on 3 consecutive possessions at the end of the 4th and overtime to beat a scorching hot team despite Blake throwing two fourth quarter picks. Dont debate with a Jags fan if you dont have your shit straight.
As far as the schedule goes, you can only play who is on your schedule, and our defense has thoroughly dominated it by leading the league in almost every relevant stat, posting 2 10 sack games, a shut out and a 5 pick game against Big Ben. All of this with a 3 and out prone, garbage offense that consistently puts them in garbage situations.

And again, let me say that as long as we have Bortles, we can lose to any team, so I wont be surprised if we go out in the 1st round to a team worse than us.
All Im saying is that the Pats and Steelers should fear us more than any ither team in the AFC, and I think the Pats should fear us more than the Steelers, as our formula is the only one thats ever beat the Pats in the playoffs.

IMO, Saint Doug is too conservative to beat Belichick.

Good to know that you've been watching all their games this year and been keeping up with them all season. I'll surely take your opinion about it over my own.

Lol, a little sensitive?
You have to admit that Drew Brees is deterioratinf before our eyes. He's still better than most QBs in this league but he's not at all able to make deep throws accurately and he's been forcing a lot of bad passes into good coverage lately. If it wasn't for Alvin Kamara (who is a fucking animal), Brees would be lost.

That's preposterous. Brees has been working with a makeshift Offensive line most of the year. The few weeks the Saints were healthy there, they went undefeated. You can look at the stretch of Dolphins, Lions, Packers, Bears, Bucs string and the aggregate score is 148-77 and a 5-0 record during that stretch. Armstead got hurt again two weeks ago, and we've been scrambling. We made it up in the Redskins game straight up on Brees' 11-11 performance in the last two drives as time was running out.
Otherwise, I think you're dropping groupthink shit about Brees. His downfield balls haven't been great this year, but chalking that up to deterioration is speculative at best. He's been rushed a bit (even though the sacks are low), we now have a Top 3 running game in the NFL and Brandon Cooks is no longer on the roster. Tedd Ginn has been pretty good for the deep game, but he's not Brandon Cooks. Michael Thomas is a solid #1, but he's not all that fast for the downfield game and not really a deep threat outside of blown coverages.
Brees (despite the running game) is at an all time high for him in passing completions at 71.3%. His previous best was when he led the league (like he's doing this year) in 2011 with 71.2% which is second all time to Sam Bradford's 71.6% percentage last year.
Here's a few other stats (facts) regarding him this year:
Average yards per completion 8.1 which is the 3rd highest of his career
Attempts per game 33.9 the second lowest of his career (running game kicking in)
Interception Percentage 1.3% which is the lowest of his career
QB Rating 104.1 which is the 3rd highest of his career
So I don't think you can legitimately say he's deteriorating except with anecdotal evidence. This is a different team.
As to your original point that the Saints aren't as good as their 8-3 record, I think that's a fair point up for debate. I thought the same thing when they were on the 8 game winning streak. But then the two starting CB's got injured, and our backups aren't doing enough. Dennis Allen relies on Lattimore's ability to shut down an entire side of the field. Both he and Crawley are back at Practice as of yesterday, so hopefully both will be available to slap that sweep on the Panthers this weekend. At the same time, without Alex Okafor rushing opposite Cam Jordan, it remains to be seen if the Saints can generate the kind of pass rush they will need during the final 5 game stretch including the Panthers game this weekend and the 2 games vs. Atlanta in weeks 14 and 16.
34-13 in Carolina. I expect a closer game in the Superdome but a Saints win to be sure. Hopefully if "Superd*uche" pulls that lame shirt rip move, someone drops him with a hit regardless of the 15 yards, fine or suspension. Bounty on that chump and his terrible sense of "fashion."
Maybe the 3rd time will be the charm if you all are lucky enough to stay in the playoff picture.

Not sure if you've noticed but we exchange blows in each other's stadiums every year, location doesn't mean as much as momentum it seems and each franchise has that. I dont expect this weekend to be forgiving to either team - thats December football. I will say, summers breeze looks better this year than the credit he is receiving.
I expect it to be a tough game and not the cakewalk we had back in September. All four games from 15 and 16 were within 5 points which I think is much closer to how this game goes.
I want a rival to talk like this with. They act like I take it too far in the college football thread.
I'm a Pats fan. Everyone hates us, and we just look down on everyone else. We don't even really hate anyone anymore since Peyton retired and Eli went to shit.
Saints have two wins against fringe wild card contenders. Soooooo impressive.
Soooooooo? Soooooooo?
Is this the 8th Grade drama thread, overused lame internet lingo thread or the NFL thread? If it's the NFL thread, mind noting or quoting where someone said the Saints have been impressive?
I will be there this afternoon hoping and cheering there are some bounty rewards collected on Newton. I don’t give a shit how many cheap shots and 15 yarders are doled out as long as pain comes with it.

Did you see Smitty take the trash out? I love that shit
I was sober at the time. Fwiw, and this is the cool inforoo side of shit, Nigel Hall and Khris Royal were a couple of rows up and since we always see both of those mfers we got to say what’s up.
