werent you you the same guy advocating for cheap shots on newton and bragging about bounties? wishing a car wreck on someone over a tackle is pretty f*cked.
hopefully, the Falcons can learn to capitalize on 150 yards of penalties and Dan Quinn takes a refresher course on game management before game 2.
Absolutely. And I'm not surrendering that shit either. Bountie$ all day, every day.
But come on man, I didn't wish for a car wreck with head trauma or critical injuries. I just wanted a fender bender. I'm willing to take any of you Falcons fans on straight up for $25.00 on December 24th.
Yeah that's not even about rivalry, that's just aints fans at large.
That's the division leading and Panther sweeping aints and aints fans. Had we gotten a win last night, I would have for the first time in forever been for you fucks vs. Vikings. But since we may have shit our way out of a bye week opportunity, not so much.

Wow.
Yet helping the onset of CTE is okay? Cheap shot all the way. And 25.00 if you think they can do it again in 2 weeks.
You support the bounty system which incentivized players to hurt other players, you sick fuck.
LOL. I acknowledge the fact that the Saints got assraped by the NFL for actions on the field while no one else did, and I acknowledge cheating teams and those with spousal abusers got slaps on the wrist. Many teams were doing a bounty system, and that was the hidden message coming out of discussions from players on other teams. To be honest, it's a troll back on other NFL fans - particularly those in the NFC South. Once I saw some of the hits we put on Brett Favre in the 2009 NFC Championship Game, I thought many of those hits were shitty. I saw Favre's bruised and purple body on ESPN, and I had to shake my head. It didn't have to be that way. Then again, I remember the Jim Mora era of the Saints too. And HoFer RJ #57 would routinely suggest that the defense's gameplan in a given week against San Francisco was to take Young or Montana out of the game early. I realize that's a different era, but that was football in the late 80's, early 90's.
The bottom line (in my mind) was that the NFL was scrambling to deny and defend itself due to the lawsuit regarding CTE and the new science of repeated head trauma. They scapegoated the Saints because they wanted a fall guy before the settlement was reached. Unfortunately our coaches and GM weren't immune to the NFL's rulings whereas Jonathan Vilma and Scott Fujita won a lawsuit against the NFL's iron fist on that shit. They weren't involved and got named individually but were cleared due to that action.
Do I want hard hits and body shots? Of course. Helmet to helmet on anyone? No. An occasional 15 yarder remember-me or cheap shot? If it's against the Panthers or Falcons, I'll take it. But head contact has to be eliminated because lives and mental capacity are being destroyed. Could you say the same thing about arthritic knees or shoulders? Maybe. But we've seen what CTE has done to wrestlers and former NFL players and in some cases how it has impacted their families (see Crippler Chris Benoit). I don't know what the answer is because a modified helmet connecting to the shoulders would not allow proper neck rotation. A gel type or flapjack type helmet with no allowable head leads or head contact is going to have to be the future in order to minimize repeated concussions and the possibility of long term brain and brain function injury.
So there's the non-rival side of shit just so you know. The rival says fuck you, fuck the Panthers, fuck the Falcons and we'll see who comes out on top.
I don't understand why they can't design a helmet that would at least help limit the concussions a little bit. I'm sure that can be done.
Yeah, you have to wonder. When I was in high school, there were straps in the helmet. Then came cushioned pads. But that was 35 years ago. Also, I haven’t seen any actual stats, but anecdotally rugby players don’t seem to deal with similar injuries. ?

I've seen the helmets they use in practice that has padding on the outside. If they use them in practice because they're safer, why can't something like that be used in games?

Someone else chime in but with my limited knowledge of rugby I believe most of the tackles you see in the NFL are illegal within the rules of rugby. They are restricted to more of take down style rather than 250 lbs of airlifted shoulder missles. I believe rugby has greater issues with neck and spinal injuries though which may not be much of a trade-off.
As regulation was ending I was cursing that the Bills were going to end their playoff hopes in that game because they should have handily won that one. But it was a hell of a lot of fun to watch. Also, I'm glad that I decided against buying tickets!
Can any Panthers fans here explain why Dave Gettleman was fired last year? I'm shocked to here he's available as a GM candidate for the Giants.
Basically Richardson has a soft spot for several players that Gettleman was low-balling, and apparently there were some rifts in the locker room because of it.
Also, Gettleman was dragging his feet on re-signing Trai Turner. And there was still a sour taste among a lot of fans over the handling of Josh Norman. Still, the news came out of left field

In retrospect tho, aren't the Panthers better off that they didn't blow their wad on a huge CB contract the way the Jets did with Revis? Norman is good, but look at the Redskins. And after a down year, the Panthers are back.
No you weren't. But you brought them up. And so I decided to reply talking about the Saints in relation to your post referencing the Panthers. Whether you claim to be a fan or not, I hope I've increased your hatred for the Saints to the point you would be a Panther's fan the next time we play them.

Is anyone else as interested in the palace intrigue of Jerry Jones failed coup against Roger Goodell as I am? He had 5 owners on his side, according to ESPN's Seth Wickersham. All 5 were owners with less power who feel like they aren't listened to. I've been trying to figure out who those owners are. The best I could come up with as possibilities:

Lol, stop being bitter about the fact that no one here agrees with you about the bounty system.
For what it's worth, I've been to New Orleans and love the city. I also prefer Brees wins over $cam Newton. With the Eagles losing Wentz, Saints have a big opening now to advance deep in the playoffs.

They better agree less I'll be placing bounties on their heads as well.
FWIW, yeah, I always felt like the Eagles and particularly as the #1 would be difficult if we had to go up there for the playoffs. The Saints though have lost to the Rams, Vikings and Falcons all of whom we are competing with for position. I'd like to get a #2 if we are able to and feel like we could go up there and have a better chance to win (if we both made it to the NFC Championship Game) vs. Foles than we would have against Wentz. But there are also a couple of ex-1st round Saints on defense (Patrick Robinson and Malcolm Jenkins) who would probably be hyped as shit for the matchup. Also, I think the Eagles will win the #1 seed. Beyond that, there are a lot of games these last 3 weeks that will be key in the final NFC Seeding. Saints play Falcons. Falcons play Saints and Panthers. Panthers play Packers and Falcons. Seahawks play Rams and Cowboys. Vikings play Packers. Lions play Packers as well. It's an interesting stretch though Bucs, Bears, 49ers and Giants are out. Redskins are almost out and will be this week. Cowboys, Cardinals, Packers and Lions almost have to win out to get in.
