Cover is a gambling term. So if NE is a 13 point favorite, NE has to win by 13.5 or more to "cover" the spread if you bet on NE using the line. This is different than betting on the moneyline, which is straight up (no points), but has odds better one way or the other.
So if you bet on the NE/TEN game with points today, it's 13-0 Tennessee before the game starts.

Yeah. Maybe a little more competitive, but with no pressure coupled with an inability to stop New England’s pass rush, it turned into a beating.
