They wouldn’t have been able to line up to spike it because there wasn’t enough time. He made the play and that’s that. Sucks but I think we went from a super old team to a young good team in 2 years. Window is small for Brees - probably 2-3 years max. But I like who we are and I’m still drinking because it’s a holiday and i caught a nap. Haha.
He was right along the sidelines, though. He could have been stopped in bound but he also might have made it out. IMO, that Safety is getting roasted for not being a hero in a game where he'd already made some plays. It's a heartbreaking loss for sure. I just don't like it being framed as Williams losing the game for them.

Looked like Williams was going for some sort of bounty
Yeah I’ll bet. We draw y’all back in Minnesota next year by virtue of the first place schedule. I would have rather had that one in the dome where we would be way more assured of a grudge victory. I’m going to spare the vitriol and just go on about loving the fact that we played an all time second half and got that late field goal for what should have been the win where there didn’t seem to be very much of a chance. Also because I always liked you and your posts, I’ll leave it only with wishing you luck and the fact that I’m all in on the AFC to win the super bowl.

He’s a rookie and not from the bounty era. Rookie fail but nice pick by him earlier in the game. There was some hate thrown his way in the immediate aftermath, but the city will rally around him because he’s a very good player for us and also has been highly rated in advanced statistics, specifically safety efficiency. Bounty was Gregg Williams. He’s been gone from here for over 5 years, and the last time we played against him, we ran up the score.
There are still two more games left for the Vikings to lose. Instead of responding with a video of Vikings fans reactions for Brett Favre's interception, I'll just wait until y'all lose this season and post then.
As for this year's Super Bowl, I'm hoping for a Vikings vs Patriots game. They're the two best teams in the league this year, at least with what we were left with after Wentz went down. I watch every playoff and major college game with my next door neighbor who is a Pats fan (New Hampshire native), so it's fun to cheer with him. I've watched and celebrated with him as his team won two of the last three Super Bowls. Let's make it three for four. He's also become a pretty diehard Saints fan during this whole time, and we were both looking forward to an epic Saints/Pats SB, but alas here we are.

Oh i know this lol. as a lifelong vikings fans i'm conditioned to expect the worst and thought it happened again yesterday. but it wouldn't have been an epic enough failure compared to 98/09. trust me, what would make a bigger failure than playing in the super bowl at home and just totally blowing it in epic fashion.
i'm also not trying to bash the saints at all, just seeing some of those videos makes me smile because something good actually happened to us in the playoffs. i can soak it in for 24 hours at least!
What spread are you using? I’d be in with the same first 3 picks but I’ll take the Jaguars plus 7 to cover. I think the Patriots might actually cover, but 13 is a lot.
Looks like I hit all 4 vs the spread. Not sure if I was the only one, but if so, I’ll collect those winnings. If someone beat me, congrats to them.
Epic battle between the Jags and the refs right now... unless it looks different on tv.
That last PI was a little iffy, the helmet thing looked like a clean hit to me at first but was clearly not. Gronk being out could be huge going forward.
Handed over a win to a team you have to play for 60 minutes, aka the best team of all times. Also slightly jobbed by officiating but Blake Bortles. Nice season.
Credit to them: the Jags were more competitive than I thought they'd be. It's hard to beat the Pats at home, let alone in the playoffs. They should be proud.
That said, I'm thrilled not to see Doug Marrone coaching the Super Bowl. It'll be a while before I stop actively hating the guy.
Pulling for Minnesota tonight. A home field advantage in the Super Bowl may be the thing to get over that Pats hump.
The Jags offense couldn’t do anything in the second half. If the Eagles win next I might just skip watching the Super Bowl altogether.
They went too conservative too soon. Ramming Fournette into the line of scrimmage repeatedly in the second half wasn't going to do it. On the other side of the ball the DL seemed to get gassed and couldn't get enough consistent pressure on TB. But I think the Jags have a bright future.

Their schedule next season will not be as favorable. Indy will have Luck. Houston will have Watson. They get the NFC East and AFC East. They also have a road game at KC.
