This is going to sound tremendously weird but there was a tumblr meme whose origins I am embarrassed to know that went “give Carly Rae Jepsen a sword”. Anyway someone held up a sign that said that and someone in the audience gave her an inflatable sword during “Cut to the Feeling” and she said “Oh yeah, a sword!” and the crowd went nuts.
It was great.
EDIT: or someone else already posted this so to contribute something new to this discussion the origin is a tumblr post that said “no cops at Pride just Carly Rae Jepsen and her sword”. There you go. There’s the joke.
Also you guys need to catch LL Cool J on the stream because whenI saw him I was not expecting it to be just him and Z-Trip plus like 20 dancers. Totally unexpected and a lot of fun.
St. Vincent fucking slayed, but she was better at Mo Pop actually. Carly Rae Jepsen was also a fucking party. Vampire Weekend was awesome before I left early. The Weeknd didn't have nearly as big of a crowd as Bruno, number one my ass. Only saw him for like two songs though. Got a great spot at Metro for Jack White. He killed it, then I went downstairs to Smart Bar to dance at Orchard Lounge and jesus I danced so hard. Probably sweat more than I did at Lolla, and it was hot as fuck today. Really excited for tomorrow. Also I didn't think LL Cool J was that great before I left, had no regrets walking down to Carly while missing him.
Also Bomba Estereo was really fun, but negative points to the family that tried to overtake my shady area for their kid to be out of the sun. Ain't nobody got time for your kids out here. I would've shared, but they just came up in there like they owned the place. Bones (UK) was pretty cool too
Gutting through a mostly annoying Flosstradamus set at Hard at the moment killing time until I can see Bomba Estéreo, Catfish atbm and LL Cool J if I can stay up that long.
Post when it's on? Thanks
I didn’t make it that late, so I missed Catfish &. However I woke up for some odd reason and caught most of LL Cool J with Z-Trip. I missed that show when it came through in May, as it was a light jazz fest day and the set was only scheduled for an hour. Pretty fun show, and it’s always nice to see an old school DJ like Z-Trip who can support anyone.
On Red Bull TV there is a lineup but it doesn’t show what channel (could be maybe for channel 1?). Shows 2 replays for St. Vincent (9:05 and 12:25). Portugal shows up at 6:35. I do wish someone I knew had a VR rig. Apparently the front row is where you are positioned on the VR YouTube channel. I’m going to break down and get one when PS 5 is released, but that could be a year or two.
You can still watch vr channel in browser -or- on phone also. On phone it uses gyroscopes to look around and on computer its just static but still is a way to see what's going on, though in no way as immersive.
Oh yeah..and perfect time to say Google Daydream is on sale 70% off with free shipping from verizon. Just $30 its a steal!!
It's designed for google pixel but can be used as cardboard viewer for most major handsets. (thus will work perfectly well for watching these or any other youtube videos in vr mode) Choose in store pickup option off verizon website (don't know if they are offering same price if you walk into the physical store to purchase) and might even get to use it later today for streams. Let me know if anyone has luck with doing this as I already have the samsung gear vr so won't be trying personally.
Hey, posting this for the friend of an Inforooer. The little girl's name is Avery, her father's name is Eric Allen. He has kidnapped her and has an active order of protection against her. He was at Lolla yesterday with a weekend pass so there's a good chance he will be there again today. If you see either of them, please contact the police. They can look up the order of protection on his name, or her mother's name, Jessica Keirns.
Capping off the weekend with the vampire weekend aftershow tonight. Hoping for some new material as they are doing the Yondr pouches which I don’t think they have ever done before from what I have read

Seems a good bet, seeing as they're on all the streams.
I’m home. I would have drank more wine but 1) driving 2) I realized I should not be spending that much money for the time being.
Jack White was very good, because I’m a very simple man and all I need is “Fell In Love With a Girl” into “Ball and Biscuit” to be happy. Jack really did seem to have a great sense of humor tonight, which was nice. Also, though, lol @ “I’m starting a corporation, Trump!!!”
Chromeo? Also very good because I’m a simple man and all I need is “Fancy Footwork” to be happy.
The Vaccines and the Regrettes were also very good. The new Lykke Li album is still bad but she remains a very engaging live performer. Cigarettes After Sex were, uh, not good. Rex Orange County had an incredibly massive crowd.
anyway my top 5 sets in no particular order would probably be Jack, VW, Lizzo, Stars, and St. Vincent. Honorary mentions: Harold’s chicken and the free WiFi at the State Farm thing. I realized more rap/pop artists need dancers at their shows and that Post Malone will probably be the #2 headliner or whatever at this thing two years from now. Anyway I’ve said too much so thank you all for coming to my TED talk.
The Vampire Weekend aftershow at the Metro was pretty special. THey played one new song live and Ezra played about 3 more new full ones off of his phone through the PA speaker and snippets of 2 more new ones. Played for a tad of two hours. The long new one that they played off of the phone -run time 5:09 (which I presume is going to be their first single off of the new album) is really awesome. Most of the new stuff was good, but that one was special in my mind. A great end to another fun weekend in Chicago.
That Vampire Weekend aftershow is in the conversation for best show Ive been to for me. Wow that was just an amazing night with a great, great crowd and Ezra being super into it. Ill do some rankings of who I saw all four days later but those guys blew me away last night

Seriously Saw them twice and both sets were amazing, but that Metro show was on another level.
My buddy said VW was his clear #1 of the weekend, followed by Jack White, The National, Chvrches, and St. Vincent.
Also said he won't do a four day pass ever again, because it's just too much to handle" (felt dead on Sunday) and the quality acts are spread too far thin.
1. Vampire Weekend 2. St Vincent- Saw her last year by herself without the backing band, I think masseduction is better with the backing band 3. Portugal the Man 4. Brockhampton 5. Chvrches 6. The Weeknd 7. Rex Orange County 8. Tyler the Creator 9. Goldlink 10. Arctic Monkeys
