bring it. Louisville has plenty of bike trails/lanes, from some nice neighborhoods too. I used one that ran along one of the highways south of the park. Neighborhood was old Louisville. Nice, restored areas. Houses had that age on them, but looked great. Can't remember the name of the trail, but it was separated off of city streets for a good 7-8 min. (someone local probably knows the trail I speak of - we rode through a wetland briefly, along that highway) I'll look it up.
Most of downtown has a bike lane on each street. Mind you, this isn't Chicago. Traffic isn't nearly as dangerous/congested.
I'll repeat it for all reading the thread for info - Take Your Bike. If you stay on Indiana side, the Big 4 bridge is your friend.
beebee - Beargrass Creek Greenway is the name of the path. Cherokee Triangle neighborhood is where we stayed that year. Southeast of Waterfront Park/downtown.
Out of the greenway; Spring St > Adams St > N Campbell St - takes you to River Rd, and the entry to the Big 4 (coincidence) - check Google maps
Can anyone tell me about the Yacht Club tickets? It says it was formally known as GA-Plus. Whats the steamboat thing all about?
Just bumping this question

If it's like last year they have two air conditioned bar tents. They provide a decent place to cool down and get out of the sun also. There was no viewing area, but my experience at Forecastle is that with a modest effort you can get close for any show you want to see.
I think in the past they have done lineup additions when they do dailies but no mention on that this time. Do you suppose they are pleased with current sales level so far so no big plans for additions? It would be nice to have full lineup (or close to it) before dailies go on sale to best decide between 1 or 2 single days or to do whole weekend.

I agree that would be a good thing to know. I hope there are some additions, although I really like the lineup already. As someone who has never been before how likely are they to somewhat theme the days? For example, do you guys think it is likely Isbell and Margo Price are on the same day Stapleton is headlining?

It could be different this year, but I've rarely felt that Forecastle has ever themed days. They normally spread things out fairly well so each genre at the fest is represented each day. I would put money down that Isbell and Stapleton will be on different days. Margo Price might double up with one of them, but I think those two will be separate.

Watch me be totally wrong next week though.
Yeah I was just wondering because I'm either going to buy a weekend pass to this or Shaky Knees and then a day pass to the best day of the fest that I dont go to all of. So I was just wondering how the daily lineups may get broken up, but we will know soon enough for both of those fests. In general I would say country is my least favorite genre but I actually like Stapleton, Price and I'm with Her so the country at this festival is pretty solid.

Response I got to this from forecastle on twitter:
"Additions will come closer to July (party cove acts, late night shows)"
...so sounds to me like nothing big. Guess they spent bigger for fewer overall acts. Hope that won't make sets that much more crowded.

Is it just me or are all festivals providing daily lineups early this year? I could be wrong and just haven't paid attention to that as much previously.

I dont know how they’re going to fill 4 stages with only the acts they have. Right now they have 20 less acts than last year
Killing off port stage? It's out of the way so might not be tons of people that go over there generally. If they don't sell out the fest ever, scaling down lineup might make it more profitable even if sales slip down a bit. Not saying I believe this will happen just trying to read into consequences if this is basically all we are getting for the lineup.

Come on, be positive. They have to add some more even if they kill the Port Stage. Friday that's only 2-3 bands, Sat. and Sun. 4-5 each day. If they don't have that stage, that would eliminate 13 at the most, and I'm ok with that but that still leaves 6-8 additions we should be getting. I'm really happy with who they've announced so far, looking like a very good 3 days for my tastes. I think we get more.

Agree that Sunday is the best day. Friday in second and Saturday coming up the rear.
Was thinking of getting a weekend pass, but Saturday does not excite me too much. An good addition of two could change my mind though. I know there has been discussion about additions, but I can't imagine not getting a dozen or so.

Friday: Must see - Modest Mouse and Father John Misty Interested - Kurt Vile, Lucero, I'm With Her and Terry Abrams
Saturday: Must see - Stapleton, Jenny Lewis, Margo Price Interested - War on Drugs, Jimmy Eat World, T-Pain (I guess?)
Sunday: Must see - Arcade Fire and Courtney Barnett Wanna see - Jason Isbell, Punch Brothers, White Reaper and Khruangbin
Saturday is definitely the weakest for me.
I think there have to be at least a dozen additions or so like last year. There's definitely not enough acts to fill up 4 stages. It's borderline the number to fill up 3, but they always seem to be very proud of the small indie stage so I can't imagine them nixing it out of the blue.
Forecastle, please give me better rap and electronic music in the additions. I'm going to be there either way, but give me some options that aren't Louis the Child, T-Pain and NF. Gracias.

Hmmmm....thinking about Saturday/Sunday day passes and flying in Friday. There's some good on Friday but would only be really sad missing Father John Misty.

Considering just how heavy this lineup leans toward rock and Americana, this seems like a really odd marketing strategy. Gave me a decent chuckle to see the same five or six artists over and over

I really like how the day by day ended up. Any chance for additions? Is this it? It seems a little light, but then again maybe not? I think this may be the play for me this year.

If there aren't additions, its the shortest Forecastle line-up by a substantial amount. I honestly expect 15-20 more names. Even if they're low level, the names they have cannot fill up the 4 stages they've used in years past.
