Definitely feels weird not being off work today and headed to the beach with friends for the weekend. Since I’m close to the fest i went and looked at the schedule and it actually made me even more sad because it made me still not wanna go even more.
I keep seeing their posts on social media and those beach views are just gorgeous. Then u look at the lineup and it's just so laughable. Sucks cus I think a lot of this sub-forum would love to return but there's just no hope given the direction they're going now.

Kygo brought out Jimmy Buffet tonight. For being supposedly the “worst day in festival history,” Kygo into Shame into Alison Wonderland was pretty fun Saturday night. 🤷♂️

Man, this show is just weird. I recall about 6 years ago it felt like it was on the cusp of really exploding in size, getting in the 60-75k/day range. Then it just seems to have fizzled.

Yeah being pretty local i would love to be able to make it back next year. I know a lot of the old regulars are from all over what kind of lineups would make you guys come back?

To be honest, it's an overall festival market problem too. Unless you go to a niche fest or Coachella, there just isn't a ton to love about lineups this year across multiple days. I hate to sound like a snob but after going to Coachella, it's hard to imagine going back to Hangout. The price really wasn't that much different for a destination festival so if I want that vacation atmosphere, I'd rather go there. The other fest I'd like to go back to is LiB. Their lineups have been decent recently and it has the Vegas aspect to it at a great time of the year for sports betting so that's a draw for me too.
now that Ive been to LiB and going back im so mad i cant have my beach fest to kickoff summer and pool parties in vegas to close it out. if i hadnt been to hangout before i probably would have gone last year. it had so many recent repeats booked high it turned me off but looking back if i had a blank slate i wouldve went. its actually not bad at all despite the chainsmokers headlining

Yeah i can get that for me Hangout is local so not about destination more so just lineup. But after doing LIB it is hands down my favorite fest and hate missing this year after 2 years but definitely plan on going back LIB in the next year or 2 for price destination and lineups it’s one of my favorites. Coachella almost went too pop for me personally this year when it came out but now looking back I think i would’ve really enjoyed. One day I’ll eventually make Coachella just from what i hear other then this past year it was just people going to say they were there so it kind of turned me off even thinking about Coachella

This is the stigma that most affiliate with the fest but I didn't experience this at all. Sure there are some people there for the 'Gram but it's such a small portion of the 80K+ people there. I didn't have a bad crowd around me the entire time.

That’s honestly good to hear and heard a lot of that from this year which honestly really makes me wanna go now. Depending on lineups i may finally try Coachella in the next year or so too. I know a lot of us at fest go for undercards and one or two headliners we like but i would really wanna do Coachella for great undercard which they usually have but also to be like hell yeah on all 3 headliners and a good rare act of one of them.
