Thanks for the info, guys. I'm mainly going for Beast Coast, Kaytranada, Nas and The Strokes. not too worried about the Strokes' crowd tho. Have a feeling most of the high schoolers will leave early
Considering flying over to visit New York and get a day pass to see The Strokes, Nas, Beast Coast, and Parcels. Was told to stay in lower eastside or Brooklyn. Do day passes ever sell out?

Sometimes. Pro tip: Join the GovBall e-Mail list. They always send out updates if a day is getting close to selling out - i.e., “Only 700 Sunday passes left!,” or something like that, as a way to try to promote and move those final tickets. So, if you’re on the list, you’ll get a heads-up if any day is close to selling out, and can act accordingly.

Just spitballing but I have a strong feeling this year's fest will have a hard time selling out.

I'm really curious about that. Lineup-wise, no day selling out wouldn't surprise me, but I was operating under the impression that this was just a huge draw on its own for all the yung 'uns looking to party their balls off post-Memorial Day, and would get flooded, regardless.

I figured that as well but there are no big-name draws this year as opposed to previous years which could put a damper on things. I have no idea who thought it was a good idea to book Florence & The Machine after she's already played the area thee times last year. Additionally, people are SEVERELY over-estimating the impact/relevance of The Strokes who are now going on playing this festival a 3rd time with, save for a 3 song EP, literally no new product released since 2013.

Not to mention in the AMA when people expressed skepticism about Tyler the Creator being a bonafide headliner they kept saying "Trust us, people said that about Travis too".
Not really seeing the popularity boost there and they are running out of time.

Weak year for headliners overall but the undercard also feels kinda thin which would be problematic for ticket sales. I thought Tyler The Creator peaked in popularity a while back but maybe I'm out of the loop?

Flower Boy, his 2017 album, is the best and most popular thing he's released. Still shouldn't be a headliner though.
If Tyler’s next album hits to the degree Flower Boy did, we’ll see this a bit differently. But the Travis comparison is a bit farfetched. Tyler doesn’t have anything in his catalogue as huge as Goosebumps or Antidote - and I don’t even like Travis.

True but the argument can be made Tyler's fanbase, going back to the Odd Future days, shows up for him just as much. I like Tyler and to me, he's a fringe headliner if there's new music. If it's the same two year old show, I don't know what Founders was thinking
Considering Still Woozy got boosted to a meatier timeslot at Coachella than the poster would've suggested, think there's a chance the same could happen at govball? The clashfinder has him on first, and I've been worried I might miss his show if I'm running late on Friday.

Aside from the weak headliners there is also little to no cross programming on this lineup. And the cross programming that does exist (Flo and The Strokes) have both played GovBall in the past and in Flo's case played the area multiple times in the last year.
I do agree with the previous post that GovBall is relying on the 'younger' crowd to come in and fill up ticket sales, however I feel like without any sort of cross programming for the older crowd and non-rap/EDM fans it is going to be tough to sell out.

It looks like Miles Kane canceled - he’s no longer listed in the lineup. No official announcement, yet, but it’s not looking good. I hope they replace him with someone cool, if they replace him at all.
