It looks like Miles Kane canceled - he’s no longer listed in the lineup. No official announcement, yet, but it’s not looking good. I hope they replace him with someone cool, if they replace him at all.
Gimme some Parquet Courts in this B.
Edit: I was just throwing out a band I’d wanna see, but this actually would make sense. They’re at APE in London the week before and they’re doing a show in Woodstock the weekend after.

Pretty happy with these set times, no big surprises but it's nice to start planning + researching more. Kind of upset with that Beast Coast v. SZA conflict, that seems a little counter intuitive but I get it. Also, Parcels and the 1975 both killed it at Coachella this month, so I highly recommend seeing them here, even if you're not a massive fan of either!
Friday: Still Woozy > Injury Reserve > Cautious Clay > Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever > Hippo Campus > The Internet/Mitski > Blood Orange > Brockhampton > The Voidz > Gesaffelstein > Tyler, the Creator
Saturday: Dreamers > Easy Life > U.S Girls > Sunflower Bean > Denzel Curry > Saba > Kacey Musgraves > TY Dolla $ign > The 1975 > Lord Huron > Florence and the Machine
Sunday: Jack Harlow > Aaron Aye > Soccer Mommy > Chelsea Cutler > Parcels > Noname, > Lily Allen > Bob Moses > Nas > Stay at Main Stage for a good spot For The Strokes

This is unprecedented: There is one conflict I give any sort of shit about - The 1975/Vince Staples. My only other big disappointment is that Gesaffelstein ends at 10, leaving me to decide whether I want to bounce an hour early or suffer through an hour of Tyler (I know lots of folks love him - he's just not for me).
FRIDAY Deal Casino > Hundredth > Cautious Clay > Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever > Hippo Campus > Mitski > Blood Orange > The Voidz > Gesaffelstein > maybe an hour of Tyler if I don't feel like bouncing early.
SATURDAY Dreamers > Suzi Wu > U.S. Girls > Sunflower Bean > Denzel Curry > Kacey Musgraves > King Princess > The 1975/Vince Staples (game-time decision) > Lord Huron > Florence & the Machine
SUNDAY Shaed > Soccer Mommy > Chelsea Cutler > Parcels > Noname > Lily Allen > Bob Moses > Nas > Beast Coast > SZA > Strokes
Love these dudes, but come the fuck on. Florence is doing a set that’s half an hour longer. The difference is, she’s a total pro and they give a shit about their show. It looks to me like they’re gonna be doing the same set they were doing 2015-2017.

Two out of the three headliners this year are only playing 75-minute sets, which, I think, is a first for this festival (Travis Scott only played an hour, but he was booked for an hour 45, I believe). Also, it's the first time in years (I can't comment on anything pre-2014) when we've had more than one headliner playing mostly unopposed. Not sure I love that particular trend, as having an alternate choice if I didn't like the headliner was always one of the most appealing things about GovBall, for me.
75 min for The Strokes is a bit of a let down..they had a similar set length when they headlined in 2016... hoping for their usual Capitol Theatre show days before the fest.

Word is no Capitol Theatre show this time around, which compounds the bummer.

Still hoping to make it Saturday for Kacey > 1975 > Florence, but it'll probably be a week-of purchase.
Yeah that’s a great run. I’m in for Saturday for sure - but debating whether to get a 3-day. Was disappointed initially with the lineup, but Friday looks way better after release of the set times, and Saturday is a pretty great day. Sunday is pretty rough though, and the Parcels/Charlie XCX conflict is tough on such a light day (though I realize this conflict probably bothers nobody but me). Will probably do 3-days in the end.

Aren't all their shows around that length?
Yep. They usually come out 15-20 minutes late if they’re schedule for 90 minutes.
I have been to govball almost every year and this year personally is such a letdown. I understand its a down year I understand the lack of headliners but looking at this schedule is just really pathetic. The last time the strokes played they played against robyn. She would be a headliner i would love to have this year. That was the counter programming. The strokes play 75min unopposed. Tyler the creator is playing an hour unopposed. I mean come on i love tyler but he isn’t even a headliner. The 1975 deserve that spot more. The past few years they kept saying panorama was affecting their lineup. Well panorama is gone and maybe they decided to take the year off as well.Rant over but just so underwhelmed. As a total hypocrite i will be there Sunday. Parcels, Nas and the Strokes are worth a day pass for me. I just hope this is a down year overall. Does anyone think this is selling well? I’m debating waiting the week of to purchase tickets.
Tix will be 1/4 the price in the week before the fest on message boards
I'm totally fine missing everything here since I've seen everything I'm desperate for on this album cycle, but they scheduled this basically perfect for me. Would love it if this pans out, and would definitely go.

I’m 28 and this is right on the fringe. I’m gonna be in for a rude awakening in a couple years when lineups are like 80-90% shit I have no connection to.

I’m 43 and have managed to build a 3-day schedule I’m interested in...but it was, for the first time in 6 years, a stretch, and I’m fairly open-minded about music. None of my usual festival-going friends, on the other hand, give much of a crap. I was really impressed last year with how they seemed to program along two different tracks, one for the young ‘uns and one for us olds, and took that as a promising sign for the future. This year, though, the pendulum seems to have swung hard in another direction. I’ve managed to hold on to this festival later than most, but if this trend continues next year...I dunno.

FRIDAY Injury Reserve > Cautious Clay > Amber Mark > Jessie Reyez > The Internet v Mitski coin toss > Blood Orange > BROCKHAMPTON > Weezy > Tyler
SATURDAY Calpurnia > Clairo v Denzel Curry coin toss > Ravyn Lenae v Saba coin toss > Kacey v Carti coin toss > 1975 v Vince coin toss > Major Lazer
SUNDAY Shaed > SOB X RBE > Charli XCX > Noname > Lily Allen > Nas > Beast Coast/Kaytra split > SZA > The Strokes?
Just turned 29 and this is my favorite Gov Ball lineup since 2016, to each their own I guess. I love the hip hop direction they're taking so as long as Founders continues to mostly avoid the one hit Soundclound wonders, I'll keep fucking with this fest. After getting KSG/Sunday Service at Coachella, having Kanye here would've been awesome

It's a bit wild this fest went from 3 years ago having Kanye West play while still having Death Cab as counterprogramming, to Tyler the Creator unopposed.

Totally agree about the counterprogramming last year...it was probably the best theyve ever done and made me so excited for the future of the fest....obviously the fest organizers feel that it didnt bring in enough...on a positive note the money saved by not going to govball can go to the myriad of awesome shows in nyc this summer
