Wouldn't be Porter Robinson be billed as Virtual Self? Or does he have more than one show he's touring right now?
Just figure that two years ago he was touring as Shelter with Madeon, then last year he went back to Porter solo, then this year he started Virtual Self. So next year Porter again? Out of all of those options I would love another Shelter run. But who knows. Just early predictions.

Best case is he closes the side stage in front of 1,000 people against Cardi B and has to read articles about how rock is dead and no one came to his festival show. Worst case he subs the main stage and deals with a terrible crowd talking through his set.

I'd say replace Thom with another big indie rock name. Alabama Shakes have never played this, right? That seems more Gov Ball's speed

I think he would have a better turn out than what you are describing: pessimistically, I think even kids know who "the guy from Radiohead is" or at the very least are curious about "the guy that Travis Scott tweeted about.". But optimistically, a sizable amount of Radiohead fans would show up for him. They did just sell out 4 nights in a row at MSG a month ago...
But I slotted him into the same spot that James Blake had this year. So worst case scenario, he'll just have to read stories like this. Which I don't think is all that bad of a headline (at least it says the set was good!)
Scheduling wise my thinking was Cardi B vs Vampire Weekend (same as Gambino vs Phoenix two years ago). Then Thom staggered against Mumford on the Honda (the same way Jack White and James Blake overlapped a bit).

Gov Ball Presents Sunflower Bean at Warsaw Dec 7th... So theres another 2019 undercard act. Also very solid I think. Saw them open for The Shins in Prospect Park not too long ago and thought they were great

One from my list! Sweet. They're great. Saw them open for Sleigh Bells at Brooklyn Steel, and then at their own record release show at Bowery Ballroom. One thing to note: They're a lot heavier, live, than they are on record. I was actually kind of surprised how rowdy that latter show got. Good times.
If Kids See Ghosts is the Eminem of next cycle that would be a real treat
Lot of this depends on if you like Kid Cudi or not. He does very little for me. And having Kanye on stage potentially not doing his best stuff would really be a tease, almost even worse than him not showing up at all
Aside from who's playing, they need to fix some the entry/exit logistics. If there really is a separate VIP Entrance, that needs to be maintained. Every year I show up it's just a massive glob of people going in every which entrance with no organization. Similar story on the way out. Spring for some crowd control. The exit on Sat night this year was terrible.

Heres the secret: do not walk the RFK or take the ferry; walk the bridge at 103rd or take the x80 bus at 125th. Always enter from the west gate.
Much easier walk at 103rd than at RFK. x80 bus has shorter wait times than the ferry. West Gate always has a quick line to get in, while the East is a sea of humanity.

My only two things are: 1) Either more trash cans or more volunteers picking up trash, because it got straight gross out there at times, and 2) More water stations with more spigots per station, and sell your water bottles elsewhere. The latter, in particular, was a total mess, this year - like, almost dangerously so (I saw a girl on the smaller side, physical stature-wise, actually unable to move at one point in the mob trying to get to the water station by the east entrance on Saturday, everybody was so crushed in). It's crazy that Panorama had more and better water stations at a smaller capacity, footprint, and level of giving a shit about amenities.
But, I guess it's a good thing that those were my only real logistical complaints. I feel like they made some strides this year with the new tent and opening up the Bacardi stage (traffic flow on that side of the field was *dramatically* better than past years).

Seems like it would be a smart use of the space since GB doesn't give us in-out privileges
(I have no idea of what it would cost to essentially turn Icahn into a dome I'm just saying, it would be cool)

Icahn is still part of Randalls Island Park and under jurisdiction of Parks Department. Everyone needs to leave the island in the event of an evacuation.
