Anyone who went see this or hear anything about it?
Yeah we were talking to security, and apparently he knocked over equipment at the Bud Light Dive bar which meant they couldn't play music anymore. The sound pollution must have really gotten to him.
There are a whole bunch of posts on Reddit about it too.
The front row pass stuff was super lame I agree. Would also say that staying in a hotel may have shielded me from the worst of the camping crowd as well. Not all roses but overall pretty great
Again Firefly was amazing this year. The crowd sizes definitely deflated some of the energy from the shows and even some bands got verbal about it. Front row kind of blew but I get why they did it. There were a lot of Chads and Becky’s but I had a ball tripping out and dancing my tail off in half empty fields. There was so much good from this year that the few bad things that happened are forgetful. Love my firefly. Top sets

I can’t even do a mock because it’s a such a mystery what direction they go in. Will they continue doubling down on Pop/Rap/EDM when attendance has all but bottomed out?
I heard attendance was around 35k each day. Far cry from 90k in 2015.

I’ve been trying to do a blend. They need to cater to the older crowd too because they are primarily the ones that would spend on things like VIP, etc.

Really Drake Tame and The Shakes to optimistic? Maybe but the high school and college kids love drake(post). Tame will probably be on or the end of there touring for the new stuff by then(Travis) and Shakes have only headlined one fest of 60,000 or more(panic). Idk maybe it is a stretch but you’d think they’d need some sort of rebound in attendance alone.
i dont think we are seeing the Shakes anytime soon with Howard doing her own thing for now. Your not comparing the HL's based on cost though, the cost of Drake is likely more than all that played this year alone.

Drake is a 50/50. I think the only North American fest he has played recently is his OVO Fest. He seems to be the only logical rap headliner next year and he would definitely sell tickets though.
I could definitely see Tame still being active because they still haven’t announced the new album.
Brittany just announced her solo album and I don’t think they’ve recorded any new material, so I doubt the Shakes will be active next year.
They definitely need to look into booking someone like AC/DC, Adele, The Cure, Foo Fighters, McCartney, Pearl Jam, etc. Obviously, they couldn’t get most of these, but it’s worth a shot.

No way there's two rock headliners. Replace the cure with a hip hop act.

Chance? J. Cole? It’s too early for Kendrick to come back and Drake is probably too expensive.

Remember when the foos were on hiatus. Hadn’t even finished putting out there new record and played firefly.(I know special occasion) Anything is possible but I guess I see what you mean. Tame is 5th on ACL and Lolla, sub at osheaga. How much could they really cost. Maybe not the shakes but Put any “newish” headliner in the third slot that I don’t see how that would be a pricey headliner pool.

Really doubt Bassnectar plays this. The number of high-level EDM acts they can put into that slot for cheaper is many. Zedd is probably more expensive but also is arguably a bigger draw for their target demo.

The Cure seems too off kilter for Firefly to me. I don't think they can afford to swing and miss bad with this demo, not in 2020 after ticket sales were pretty bad this year. I think they play it safe with a RHCP or Foo Fighters re-book, with Gambino if he's available and some terrible pop act to round out the top line.
