Does anyone need a parking pass for Friday? I think I've decided I'm going to take the Newport Harbor Shuttle to the Fort and back on Friday so I have enough time to make the Steal Your Folk show (I wish the best of luck to those here still trying to get in - I pray you do!!).
I don't want the parking pass to go to waste, so I'm happy to donate it to somebody who needs it at no cost.
Sure. If you’re looking to unload it, I’m down to take it. Is it a Ticketmaster transfer?

No problem. I figured at 10 minutes old it was already had haha. Thanks anyways!
No problem, I'm glad I could help another user out here
If anyone has experience with the Newport Harbor Shuttle, do you think if I get to the Newport Visitor Center area around 8am Friday I should be fine to find parking and get on the shuttle? I'm just trying to plan out my Friday morning in advance - I appreciate any insight/advice!
curious why folks think the harbor shuttle is the easiest way to get back to town - aren't those lines insanely long usually? i've had better luck walking .5 mile and calling a $10 lyft or driving.
i have taken the newport harbor shuttle the last two years and rarely had any issues with lines etc.
on land side, ive parked at garage there as late as 10am or so and still gotten a spot. as for departures, lines may look long but move quickly. the longest I have waited is prob 30-40 mins tops.
coming back, same thing, lines can be deceiving. longest ive waited is maaaaybe 1 hr 15 mins.
boats are lovely and relatively cheap. one time in '17 the winds were bad annd they had to limit to only larger boats. my future wife and i decided to walk 5+ miles back to town, twas lovely.

I’m not sure it’s taken me longer than an hour and fifteen minutes to get out of the parking lot at the end of the day while driving. Has anyone else been stuck for much longer than that?
And driving in at 10 AM I wouldn’t expect traffic to add any more than 30 minutes.
Seems like a wash time wise. (But I’ll admit you get a much more peaceful trip!)

I opted for the Harbor Shuttle mainly because I think it would be a cool, relaxing experience to get to and from the Fort - any saved time would be just a bonus. As long as I’m able to make it in time for SYF it’ll be gravy
Quad stage has been readjusted with the update that just happened. So it’s the same as last year.
I don’t see any changes, but it may just be me.
I did delete and redownload the app, yet again, and got a bunch of (maybe) cool new features I wasn’t previously seeing (augmented reality, support for Bose AR, location notifications, etc)

There's also a feature to donate to any of the artists' charities through the app, I don't know how long it's been there but haven't seen it mentioned yet

That’s been there. I’ve been checking it to see if a charity popped up for the Collaboration or TBA before the act was actually announced. But the Donate tab provides a way to donate to NFF Foundations and not to the specific charity chosen by the artist.

Yeah that was just added. But it allows you to donate to the Newport Foundation not the artist choice.

Listening to Jay Sweet's spotify playlist for this year's fest.
Parker Millsap is becoming a must see for me.
Illiterate Light (or at least this one song) sounded so much like Scott from Dr. Dog that I thought it was a side project.
I'm With Her is an act I haven't given too much attention to but liked what I heard and have needed to deep dive their stuff.
Our Native Daughters are awesome.
Also, my mom is annoyed they are called "The Highwomen" and thinks they should be called "The HighwayWomen" because otherwise everyone is just going to think they are just girls getting high lol

I'm really shocked and disappointed Milk Carton Kids are on the harbor stage. I love that stage if I can get under the tent but I feel like this one will be packed. Maybe a case of too many good acts to juggle on where to put them. The timeslot makes sense but it feels like a downgrade from the Quad. I know it's not actually a downgrade but it's always weird seeing an act go from a bigger to smaller stage. Hopefully the get a daytime set on the Fort stage next time they come around.

Also....triple post king here.......Todd Snider is so good. Everyone should try to at least catch him if he comes around your area since he's in a big conflict zone for Newport. He's always awesome.

Here we are on Newport’s Eve. We’ve all been waiting all year for this wonderful weekend. A weekend of music discovery, a weekend to catch up with familiar faces, that we may only see once a year. The most happiest group of people, pouring into Fort Adams for one weekend a year, and it’s here! See y’all soon! Hope to see some new folks this year! Just remember...it’s not a sprint....it’s a marathon! Don’t burn yourselves out by Friday night!

Ditto. I am the most outgoing, yet shy guy you could meet. But would like to say hello. In the past I've been told to look for this tent or that spot, but felt like I was in high school trying to going the college paper with all those tall friendly hippies racing about. "I'd like to ummm..." was all I could muster. That was good enough for them. Hope to meet some of you this weekend.
I feel like they say that you can't transfer/sell tickets to others every year but then don't enforce that at the actual show.
Its looking like I will have to sell my 2 milk carton kids and likely my 2 deer tick on Saturday Tix. Lyte currently wouldn't let me sell MCK cuz they have more people selling than they have requesting (ouch).
I'm hopeful I can just sell to people waiting in line and transfer at the will call thing before going to other shows
I might be interested in the MCK tickets, but I really want to go to steal your folk...just don't have tickets
Man I am so completely out of the loop this year. I never got caught up once they started the earlier than usual lineup announcements. This is by far the least familiar I am with the artists compared to previous years (save for my first year in ‘14) but I’m still going to have a blast.
