Every year the rollout seems so different. A few years ago it seemed like headliner after headliner; this is the first year we've gone this far and I don't know anyone. But learned a big lesson last year -- the acts under my radar are now some of my favorites. I am already hooked on Haley Henderickx (a typo nightmare).
It looks like Pete's 100 won't be celebrated at Clearwater Hudson River Revival, as they make the Mets look like a well-financed organization, so would love to see Newport pick up some of their more recent fav acts -- -- the Mavericks -- Dave Alvin and Jimmie Dale Gilmore -- Upstate -- Toshi Reagon -- Arlo -- Rhiannon Giddens, in any band, solo, day, night, whenever
Still pulling to see Of Monsters and Men live. And a big smile, and kudos to the person who put Tower of Power on their Bingo List. Ain't happening. But how cool to see Doc at NFF?
I'd definitely be down for the Mavericks and any Rhiannon Giddens
mr kaufman always seems to pop up wherever im at. maybe ill ask him about this tonight during HGM @ music hall of wb
I'll be there too! Side note: It's been great seeing Josh playing with HGM this last year
When they played MHOW two years ago he came out as a guest for the encore and busted out one of the best guitar solos I've seen during Brother I Know the Road. Hoping for a repeat tonight

i wonder if this further fuels the "dessners at the fort" fire. i would be all for a national set, a red machine set, a day of the dead stage, or whatever they want really.

If a Day of the Dead set were to happen, I wonder who they'd bring in
Phosphorescent, Lucius, and Hiss seems like a good start. Would love Daniel Rossen so they could do Terrapin.
Jim James, Bela Fleck, Kurt Vile, and Bonnie Prince Billy to round it out.
New Raconteurs singles are out this morning and they definitely feel like a fantastic fit for Newport. Folkier and bluesier than some of their harder stuff from the earlier years.

While trying to find a song, I stumbled across something (I think Anais Mitchell’s Instagram post?) that specifically stated that the Dessners are only on this (version of the) song because they were just hanging out, but that they don’t have anything to do with the band.

I mean the second album has Old Enough, Top Yourself, and Carolina Drama, which are folkier and bluesier than either of these songs
But yeah I love the new tracks and am really hoping they do Newport and/or Bonnaroo this summer
