Luther Dickinson has a new album collaboration coming out with Birds of Chicago, and Amy Helm. If the Rhiannon Giddens collaboration with BoC is possible, this could also be possible.
Newport Festivals Foundation has made a donation on behalf of Charley to Kids In A New Groove to fund their Mentoring Through Music program. Funds will specifically go to purchase brand new instruments for students through their rewards program which celebrates student accomplishments.
maggie rogers record is out. also for those who didnt see, brandi posted about mags on instagram with a heavy hint that she is "high on this woman" that included a wink and is assumed to be a hint about the highwomen project.

Was just going to come here to say "New Matt Vasquez stuff.....should we expect him returning?". Always love his shows, whatever grouping it happens to be. Would love a MLV solo set in 2019 and a Delta Spirit spot on the 2020 lineup.
That cut is sick. Forget solo. Bring the whole band. And while we're doing a little kickass, Low-cut Connie is adding several backing musicians. I'll take one from column A, one from Column B, and some down home time with Maggie Rogers from Column C.
Congratulations to timbobsnow (Charley Crockett) and rhinokey (Liz Cooper and the Stampede) to be the only ones to get a slot on their Bingo Card this week. Definitely a couple of more off-the-radar announcements this week, though it is nice to see that even with the lesser known acts, the boards collective wisdom is aware. Would love to have a playlist of the top songs from all 367 artists that were selected from our cards just to help discover music. Anyone have a way to do that quickly?
Charley Crockett is a Texas-based artist who has an extremely unique voice, and a chill style. I've seen him twice, on and offstage, and he comes across like a really kind, cool dude too. And very funny, my wife and I still quote a random quip he made about a local venue's decoration, with his fancy drawl. I'm glad he's slowly starting to grab more attention, I saw he was on the wk2 ACL lineup last year, bummed I missed it. He seems like he'll be around awhile though!

Just popping in to say I've never been to Newport, hope to one day, but follow this thread closely because you all have very good taste. Keep on (and if that playlist comes to fruition I'd love to hear it)

Here y'all go!
I only have 337 songs, so if I missed someone let me know. A couple artists don't have music on spotify so they're not there.
I chose each artist's most played song on spotify, doing my best not to include covers, collabs, or songs from soundtracks/other projects. Some of these tracks aren't the best reference point for the artist and how they might sound now/how they may sound at a potential Newport appearance vs. when the song came out, and I had to bypass many better songs for some questionable inclusions because they were #1, but those were the arbitrary parameters I gave myself.
Had to make some judgement calls though. Just went with the studio version of "Box of Rain" for Phil Lesh.
Also why the fuck was Cautious Clay on two bingo cards

I guessed Charley Crockett on mine too! D:
I would have guessed Charley Crockett...if I had a playlist. But I also would have put down the Andrews Sisters, I'm so bad at this.
Methinks Dave Alvin and Jimmie Dale Gilmore would fit in sweet with Charley.

Newport Festivals Foundation has made a donation on behalf of Kacey Musgraves to support Mineola High School ISD Band Program. With an increase in participation in the band program, there is a need for additional instruments – especially to help support the growing interest in jazz and chamber music small ensembles.

That’d be his only 4-show run on the tour, which may make it a bit unlikely, but I’ll stay hopeful. Stapleton/Kacey/Brent Cobb would be a solid follow-up to last year’s Nashport
