Is this just Billy excited as a first-timer? Or does “special” and “Sunday night” have any meaning? Unless you’re the last set on one of the stages, I’d hardly call any performances at “night”.

Maybe a late night? Either as guests of Deer Tick (assuming they're doing them again....I forget if they are taking a break this year) or their own show?
I'm guessing it's just a mistake, like when an artist says "how are you doing tonight?" during a festival set in broad daylight. But maybe I'm wrong.

He was originally out of Traverse City, Michigan but recently relocated to Nashville to help elevate his career. I think upon moving there, he and Molly became roommates. Both exceptionally good flatpickers.
He used to play such a frenetic style of guitar; not sure if that’s still his live sound. When he was a lower tier act on the DelFest lineup the year I went, all you could hear were people talking about him and how amazed they were with his various sets. He’s toured with and opened for the jamgrass acts: Greensky, Traveling McCourys, etc.

Another Traverse City band due for their Newport debut is The Accidentals. They've been touring hard this year so I could see that happening too.
I looked back a few pages and didn’t see anyone mention it, but has it been discussed that last weekend jay took over the twitter account and named dropped hold steady and death cab?
He also threw some love to jade bird, Phil cook, Aaron Lee Tasjan and Sharon Van etten, but the two above stood out most to me. Would say DCFC is more likely than hold steady, but I would gladly welcome both. Never seen dcfc despite being a long time fan, loved bens set in 2017 and have seen hold steady almost a dozen times.

Hey, folks, can I ask a n00b question?
My group is looking at a house in Narragansett as lodging during the festival, but it doesn't look like it has any AC. Are we going to suffer at that time of the year? Obviously, we'll be at the festival all day, but I hate to think we'll be sweating bullets while trying to sleep.

(A) Yea, you will be miserable and sweating bullets (B) Unfortunately, a lot of houses in Narrangansett don’t have AC
John Mayer just announced a solo tour. MSG 7/26 open Saturday. He’d be great even if he’s just a guest.
Yeah I got excited when I saw the MSG dates, but a Pittsburg show on Sunday and a Providence show earlier in the week means it's probably not all that likely.

It's not impossible he shows up, I just wouldn't consider it likely.
If Ryan Adams or Maggie or someone else with a connection to him gets announced for Saturday, I'll have more faith
