Hopefully Lula Wiles will return for a main stage set this year (they played in the museum last year). Their new album is getting a lot of praise from NPR.
Newport Festivals Foundation has made a donation on behalf of Lukas Nelson to support Anthropos in Austin TX. Anthropes hires top local professional musicians to teach and mentor at-risk teens through a series of lessons, rehearsals, and a large concert in downtown Austin. Newport Festivals Foundation's gift will provide 45 lessons for at-risk teens in the Austin area this spring.
Excited to have him back. Missing him was one of my only major regrets of last year. Also the obligatory Neil hype, especially having him back to back years
Bon Iver just announced spring tour, with no local date.
Same for Jim James.
Jim seems like a lock but don’t you play with my heart about Bon Iver. I’ve been dreaming about a “Justin Vernon” set where he just plays acoustic whatever he wants

Back to back years has to be coupled with Neil I would imagine. Lukas, as far as I know isn’t releasing anything, so nothing to promote. I’m feeling good about this

I’m guessing Willie. Kacey was also booked for Friday. That’s two Willie Nelson connections on the same day.

He did post recently, "Really looking forward to showing folks the new record we’ve made .. it’s far and away the most fun music we’ve created !" So between that, and Star is Born raising his profile, it could just be him, which is cool with me too

this is a repeat i can get behind. missed 90 percent of their set last year since it overlapped with low cut connie and hiss golden messenger. caught the very end of them doing set me down on a cloud with lucius.
they were incredible at farm aid, would love to see them again in a slightly longer set. I've already given up any hope of neil going forward, but willie would be cool

We all need to make it very clear on this board that we have given up on Neil ever happening and that we've moved on from even wishing for it. That's the only way he will show up. Hi Jay!

I don’t appreciate you making sense right now
Found out my wife is pregnant so we’ll be missing out this year for the best possible reason. But I assume that means y’all will get Bruce, Neil and Stevie Nicks for headliners. And Paul Simon will show up for th closing singalong.

Congrats! I skipped last year for the birth of my second. Bringing them both this year.

Thanks for the well wishes! My brother took last year off for his first and now number 2 is on the way...I’m gonna invest big in baby headphones and try to get the whole family back for a triumphant return in 2020.
Still gonna lurk and post 1000 crying emojis when someone incredible is announced!

Anybody here ever done the whole floaty thing? My group was thinking of taking a day off from the festival itself this year and just floating out past the beer dock for a headliner or two. Curious about best way to get ahold of paddle boards or kayaks or something, and any other tips for doing that?
