Newport Festivals Foundation has made a donation on behalf of I’m With Her to support Education Through Music-LA's mission to ensure that all students receive a quality sequential music education program at partner school Hooper Elementary School, located in South Central. The funding will directly expand Hooper Elementary's Band and Strings Orchestra Program from 85 to 161 students (4th and 5th grades) this 2018-19 school year through the purchase of new instruments and the addition of two more music instructors to provide weekly instruction twice a week.
Already at 8 Friday announcements. Almost half way done with the day...
And probably 4 of the 5 biggest acts announced so far scheduled for that day (Phil Lesh, Kacey Musgraves, Lukas Nelson, and I’m With Her)
I'm With Her won't be that high. Lukas probably won't be either.
I'd guess if they were still billing in order Phil and Kacey would be 2 and 3, Lukas would be 5 or 6, and I'm With Her would be somewhere in the 7-10 range
EDIT: semi-related, but given that Lukas did the fort last year, where do they put him this go around? My guess is on the Quad second to last before Phil closes it out

But still all likely to be billed higher than the rest of the announced acts with the exception of Jeff Tweedy and the singalong (which I didn’t count).

Isakov would probably be about on par or above Lukas. He's pretty popular
starting to get to the point of the year where i need to decide on whether to see some of my favorites as they roll thru brooklyn in spring...or wait and just catch them at the fort. likely getting married late rthis year so that whole budgeting gets much harder and the list is building...
- mlv - tasjan - strand of oak - deer tick
and then there's the list of bands whose shows i can't attend for various reasons that are now moving to my most wanted at the fort:

IDK which will be at the fest (Deer Tick have to be this year... right?) but this Strand of Oaks album feels like it'll be worth seeing at a headlining show. Real question is if the MMJ guys will tour with him or play with him if he's at Newport

Tim answered a question on Insta saying that the boys from MMJ will NOT be touring with him. Dunno about NFF.

I’m skeptical that we will see Better Oblivion at the fort, as much as it makes sense, would be perfect, and might be my best (only) shot at seeing them.
That Providence date is throwing me off. And given that it’s a Spring tour and they have not been announced for any other summer festivals, I feel like both Phoebe and Conor will be onto other things come July.
Dispatch announced a show in Portland, ME a few days before NFF. Although, it’s one of three planned shows in iconic venues (Red Rocks and Wolf Trap the other two).

Could Newport be the 4th iconic venue?
They mentioned somewhere it's their only New England date of 2019, so probably out of the question
I may have to trek down to Wolf Trap. Dispatch is one of those bands I always wanted to see live, but have never managed to make it happen.
It hasn't been the same since Pete left a few years ago. I never saw them in their heyday but the first couple years after their reunion they were pretty great.
But if you haven't seen 'em it's a worthwhile show

Didn't someone relay from Deer Tick that they wouldn't return to Newport until they headlined?

Pete left the band? I didn’t know that. And Wikipedia isn’t much help. How long ago?
I need to see them again regardless. I saw them at ‘Roo after their reunion. But they’re a band I need to either see in a more intimate setting (Newport) or at their own gig. (Unfortunately they never tour to a city where I am living, and the timing doesn’t work out for a mini road trip when they’re only a few hours away.)

Fuck. I knew I should have grabbed tickets today. I was waiting to hear from my cousin if she was interested but hadn't heard back. Will def try on stubhub or craigslist for the NY shows but I imagine they'll be jacked way the hell up. Damn.
Wow! Pretty much the entire Oblivion tour is sold out already...!
I’ll be at the Columbus.
I didn’t expect this.
While their marketing was phenomenal and Conor is a household name, outside of publications’ love for Phoebe, didn’t expect her to have a huge boost on the ticket sales so I didn’t expect much more than a typical Conor show in terms of sales.
This could be good for Newport though... no need to wait to announce anymore if they are on the lineup. You won’t cannibalize any ticket sales at the Providence show. (Plz be on the lineup).

Ohhh I just learned that Beirut’s new album dropped on Friday.
Please be the year that Newport finally lands them. I seem to recall an Ask me Anything with Jay in my first year attending NFF that he had asked them but touring never aligned with the fest.

At the end of last night's show at The Sinclair, Rayland told the crowd he'd "be around at the last weekend of July, you know maybe in a neighboring state"
I’m guessing Newport didn’t go the Florence and the Machine route this year... they will be in UK about a week and a half before Newport and again a week and a half after Newport. (I know... it’s possible... but seems unlikely an act that big would come to the US in between. Although, there is a lack of a Boston / New England date on their spring/early summer US tour)

As much as I have enjoyed the fact that NFF started rolling out the lineup earlier this year, the wait from Thursday to Tuesday each week seems to take FOREVER! I'm trying to be patient, and I know it doesn't even really matter who they book (it'll be great), but I just want more...haha. It is crazy to think that usually, we would only have a couple of artists at this point, so in the grand scheme of things, we are ahead. It just feels so much slower to me - anyone else feeling the same?!

I keep tricking myself into thinking they're doing Tues/Thurs and M/W/F on alternating weeks and I keep ending up a little disappointed on Mondays
