Saw her play a headling gig and open for War & Treaty last year. Both were amazing sets. Didn't get to check her out at the museum stage as the line was long by the time I got there and knew I'd be seeing her in September. Excited to see her again.
Hinterland Festival in Iowa just released their full lineup (I think it just happened, my Google notification made it seem like that was the case so apologies if this is old news)

Just came here to post this. It’s also one of the closest festival options for me, and I really want to go. BUT I’ll be in Newport the weekend (almost a full week) before, and I’m going to New Zealand for a couple of months starting in September, so it’s probably not a good idea financially/work-wise to go. Decisions, decisions.

probably mentioned before but JRAD is likely out. just announced a Burlington date on sunday of newport but playing Peach the night before. wouldn't make sense to go newport->Scranton->burlington 3 days in a row.

If you already booked a bunch of stuff for Newport, you should probably stick with the plan.
If all you have is the ticket, we'll just see you next year...
just noticed frank turner announced US dates with shovels & rope. Nothing as far as July yet, but he's available and as a superfan i'm just gonna assume his S&R friendship is a sign of a return to the fort.

I think Shovels is traveling with TTB at that time. Also in Colorado on Friday and Saturday.

or maybe it would. who knows.
Doubt they'd book two different Dead projects.
And the JRAD experience would be even tougher to fit into Newport's set lengths than Phil's will be

Oh, I’m coming to Newport! I’ve got my festival ticket and flight booked. It would take something very, very big for me to miss another year out there. Hinterland is the question mark right now. It would probably cost me less than $250 total, so it’s not so bad. I just feel bad requesting more time off work than anything.
Ehh, they could easily do Friday in Durham and Sunday at Newport or vice versa.
At least to attend a day at Newport and pop up in a couple sets
Yeah, not much further than Floyd Fest, which they did last year. Wouldn’t be shocked if they were the bones of the backing band for the Pete Seeger set.

ah that lovely 90 seconds of time from seeing a new announcement, hoping you know, seeing that you dont, wondering who it is, then pulling up spotify and instantly jamming to their record.
i've only listened to a minute of their album but i think i'm gonna like these guys.

JRAD also booked for Levitate along with Nathaniel Rateliff. Both probably out.

Really enjoying the Nude Party, although I'm wearing a towel and socks. Less bar band than Low-cut Connie; reminds me of a cross fertilization of Youngloods and Rascals circa 1970's, a little Dandy Warhols circa 90's, with a sprinkling of Brooklyn indie 2019. Still hope Newport brings back Low-cut or War and Treaty. Kinda sad when I really get into a band such as the Jones Family Singers, and then they disappear from the Newport scene. Don't know whether its because they are seen as novelties, don't "fit" the Newport family, or just so too many bands not to give more of them a chance.
If there is the rock 'n roll bar band slot, should we expect a Conchords / Cheech and Chong slot to continue?
