Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
First round of Jazz Fest is out. Really hoping Corinne Bailey Rae pulls double duty!
Also Building 16 is the existing Museum building. My guess is they'll renovate it while keeping the original structure and also use the space to the left you never go in. It needs upgrades to properly house items. Looks like I'll be drafting a letter to try and work on the project soon.
"You look like you're listening to every note." - Lady to me during LCD's "final" show 2023: Mar 29 - Guster Apr 6 - Postmodern Jukebox Apr 26 - Father John Misty May 14 - Taylor Swift (Philly) May 17 - Robert Plant and Alison Krauss July 12 - moe. July 16 - CAKE (Portland, ME) July 28-30 - Newport Folk (#12!) Dec 8-9 - Goosemas!
I preferred the three a week announcements last year because there was a wider gamut of styles and name recognition.
I was delighted, for example, to see Jade Bird, but she is not exactly making me all giddy inside (Maggie Rogers, maybe?), or moving that needle on Lyte (20 places since tix went on sale in November). It also messes with my other ticket buying -- should I have paid the freight for Jackson Browne with Lucius in New York or hope for a Newport Miracle?
I am also waiting for more of a nod to Newport's anniversary and Pete Seeger's birthday. I still can't imagine we won't see Arlo or Kris or Joan or Judy, and I've given up on Springsteen. (Who I can see playing the 100th birthday at Clearwater under their new booking people who might try to fire on all cylinders with just one headliner).
Anyway, just one person's frustration as other shows get announced, dollars to be spent, and staring at a Stubhub debacle.

Don’t give up yet. Kacey Musgraves was announced at 1:13 in the afternoon
NEW SHOWS ALERT! Newport Folk Presents MAVIS & FRIENDS – three celebratory shows commemorating the 80th birthday of Mavis Staples. Join us this May in New York, Nashville, and Los Angeles. Each show will feature Mavis and special guests with proceeds going directly towards extending the Newport Festivals Foundation's support of music education programs in each of these cities.
MAVIS & FRIENDS – May 9 at New York City’s Apollo Theater – May 15 at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium – May 22 at Los Angeles’ Theatre at Ace Hotel.
And some nice choices over at Bethel, NY, including:
July 06 - Jackson Browne with special guest Lucius July 26 - Chris Stapleton with special guests Margo Price and The Marcus King Band July 29 - Heart with Sheryl Crow & Elle King
Highly recommend Levon Helm's Studio concerts, as well. Caught Low-cut Connie last August in a room about the size of the Museum. But a lot of money juggling as I wait for more Newport announcements.
I realize I might be part of a small sect here but AA Bondy just announced a Brooklyn show (at least). Guy hasn't played a show that I'm aware of in years. Wonder if he could somehow be on Jay's radar.
Woah woah woah. This is amazing. I thought the dude was done. Every time I’ve seen him he absolutely killed it. Well fuck, now my hopes are up
grammys were great for Brandi and Kacey but I can't be the only one who noticed how weird it was NOT to have brandi and margo involved in the dolly tribute, particularly with them doing "9-5" but oh well.
anyone else itching for a big announcement? solid start but when someone mentioned we were 1/3 of the way through, i started getting antsy for some heavy hitters...
I feel like Phil, Jeff and Kacey are heavy hitters
Richard Thompson and Lucinda are still my top hopes, but Amadou & Mariam and Blind Boys of Alabama sounds like it’ll be something special. Would be stoked to get that

Lucinda is out.
Bummer but in that case I’m definitely pushing for this Blind Boys collab
anyone think they would do a fourth and final Mavis & Friends at the fort? or do they expect that with the three markets they pick they are covering their bases and thats it? just a thought.

If they do, hopefully it’s a aftershow...they’ve already been there, done that.

Yeah I don't see it happening. It wouldn't feel quite as special a booking with them promoting these other shows, plus I really only see a set like that being the Sunday closer again and that spot's already taken.
But on the topic, any thoughts on guests for the Apollo show? My first guess is Jon Batiste
Margo Price will almost definitely be at the Ryman

Yea, I hate to have that thought about a literal living legend, but you couldn't put her as anything but a headlining festival closer, and I really want something fresh and new for that.
