Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Not only is Damien Jurado grossly overdue to play this fest, he just announced a new album and it’s being put out by Mama Bird who also rep Courtney Marie Andrews and Haley Hendrickx. Maybe this will be the year. Aside from neil and Monsters of Folk, he’s probably my biggest hope. New album coming out is solo acoustic. Can’t wait.
Yes please!
Anna St. Louis is opening his tour dates (or at least the NYC show) and I'd love her as well.
Haven’t listened to her much, I know Kevin Morby has been hyping her a lot. I’ll check it out
Maggie’s IG post has a comment from Brandi that says “see you there”
Very interesting. I did recently wonder if after the year she had she could come back and headline Saturday. That being said, she was literally everywhere last year, so her taking a bit of a break and just showing up in a non official capacity at least seems more likely to me.

Yeah hopefully a guest. I don’t need another set from her this soon lol

IMHO, Brandi and the twins can play whatever and whenever they want.
Brandi's website says they're only at Floyd Fest on Thursday. A debut of the Brandi + Margo + Shires super group would be fun but it looks like Margo Price is only available Sunday. Amanda Shires seems to be available for the entire fest.

My coworker recommended J.S. Ondara to me last week. He said he found him after Ed Helms mentioned him in an interview or something and he played me a clip of Torch Song and I was blown away. I looked him up and saw that his new album was coming out 2/15. I reviewed it and gave it an 8.5 (second highest score I’ve given this year behind Sharon Van Etten). This is probably the most exciting announcement for me so far.
According to interviews, he moved from Nairobi to Minnesota only because that’s where Bob Dylan is from... I’m not sure if that was a facetious comment or serious.
His new album features a lot of Newport alum - The Goldsmiths, Andrew Bird, and Joey Ryan from Milk Carton Kids. I compared his style to Tracy Chapman and his voice kind of reminded me of Ryan Montbleau.
Upcoming Shows: August 7: Green Day/Smashing Pumpkins/Rancid/The Linda Lindas August 30: Waxahatchee/Snail Mail/Tim Heidecker September 17: Pearl Jam/Glen Hansard September 24: Idles/English Teacher

From Rolling Stone
J.S. Ondara can trace his entire career back to a bad bet. As a teenager in Nairobi, Kenya, Ondara once swore to a friend that “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” was written by his favorite band, Guns N’ Roses, and not by someone named Bob Dylan.
“What are you talking about?” he remembers thinking when he first heard Dylan’s name. “After losing that bet, I discovered this mind-boggling person.”
A decade later, Ondara, 26, is on the verge of releasing Tales of America, a clear-eyed acoustic newcomer’s tale of American promise and calamity that establishes him as an invigorating new voice in American folk music.
Aside from the fateful bet, the other event that has set Ondara on his current course is when he won a Green Card lottery that allowed him to move to the United States about six years ago. Since then, he has learned to play guitar from scratch, earned a major-label deal and opened up for artists like Lindsey Buckingham and First Aid Kit.
I preferred the three a week announcements last year because there was a wider gamut of styles and name recognition.
I was delighted, for example, to see Jade Bird, but she is not exactly making me all giddy inside (Maggie Rogers, maybe?), or moving that needle on Lyte (20 places since tix went on sale in November). It also messes with my other ticket buying -- should I have paid the freight for Jackson Browne with Lucius in New York or hope for a Newport Miracle?
I am also waiting for more of a nod to Newport's anniversary and Pete Seeger's birthday. I still can't imagine we won't see Arlo or Kris or Joan or Judy, and I've given up on Springsteen. (Who I can see playing the 100th birthday at Clearwater under their new booking people who might try to fire on all cylinders with just one headliner).
Anyway, just one person's frustration as other shows get announced, dollars to be spent, and staring at a Stubhub debacle.
Was surprised to see the comment above re: Lyte moving only 20. Jumped in line early on public ticket day to get two extras, started in low 100's and sitting at 60 for the last few days. The biggest jump was right after xmas.

I was 50 in the queue for 2 tickets right after I got shut out. Got mine probably a month ago.
Just started to listen to JS Ondara and he is great. Beautiful.
This is what I love about Newport. Not a single one of us had him on our Bingo Cards. Yet, when you listen to him he is perfect for the festival. It feels like one of those small stage sets where both the audience and the artist are so happy to be in that place.
This one pleases me as much as any headliner will.

has anyone created a spotify playlist yet of who has been announced?
also - are we not following any type of announcement release this year at all? I feel super confused and can't keep track. Last week's Maggie annoucment was Thursday? but also at 8am? There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.

Agree with this. Kacey was also off, at 1 PM (and the Mavis announcement late afternoon). Other than that, most are between 10:30 and 11:30, with quite a few dropping at 11.

Kind of hoping they won’t be there... out of all the return acts with newer albums I am hoping for... they’re not one of them.
Looks gone now. But was def there.
I don’t know how you do it. You just happened to be exploring the website for some random band who has played before, probably moments after they put it up, and moments before they took it down?
I’m starting to think you have inside information.

Was looking for tickets because I know they have a tour that just got announced.
Plus I mentioned that gap when they announced the tour, so was in my head already.
