what a fun performance. tim looks so happy, that dude and his music are rad.
really hope he brings whoever he can to play some of the new stuff (and old stuff) at fort. i recall asking when his first single came out and his response on IG was more of a "that would be nice" rather than a "wait and see" but im holding out hope.

Yeah I couldn't help but smile watching him play. Really bummed his show in NYC is the same day as Mavis & Friends, so definitely hoping he's at the Fort.
Worth noting that in addition to Jason, Amanda, Bo, and Tom, that's Will Johnson of Monsters of Folk and New Multitudes on drums
Dawes and Friends - North Hills 10 Year Celebration!!
Newport Festivals Foundation has made a donation on behalf of Dawes to Silverlake Conservatory of Music to provide scholarships to children whose families would otherwise be unable to afford weekly private lessons, instruments, supplies and group class enrollment.
I got a good little laugh out of this line in their bio
"Once known for their honest approach to classic sounds, Dawes grew into something different: a forward-thinking, boundary-pushing band for the 21st century"
But yeah this is the best Dawes booking we could've gotten
well this makes me happy. tho i've been a bit down on them since the last record didn't resonate, there's no doubting the awesomeness of North Hills. this seems like an everybody wins situation.

awesome get. newport figured out one of the more interesting ways to book a band that has played a ton and still be fresh and interesting. next time deer tick plays (if ever again) in some capacity i could see something along these lines.

Alright here we go, a unique booking that has me stoked. Just booking Dawes at this point is a 6.5/10. A Dawes and friends 10th anniversary of North Hills is about an 8.5/10

God damn it now you have my hopes up for a Born in Flag day 10th anniversary show. I’d imagine if they don’t play the feat that one of the after shows would be this
Dawes posted that they are doing the album in entirety. That album is 55 mins...too short to be headliner.
Although they could noodle it out.
Plus almost any time I've seen these "play a full album" sets or shows they always include some covers or b-sides or something. I think they could do the full album, play one or two of their other hits and do one or two big covers from the Last Waltz or some junk like that.
as someone who hasnt seen Dawes at the fort yet (this will be my third NFF, 17,18,19), let me just say i am already dreaming of singing "when my time comes" at the top of my lungs with 10k friends on July 27th
