Super easy. And booked a hotel in Middletown (this time it's a suite so 4 of us won't be stuck in a tiny room for 4 nights each after a day/night of celebrating folk).
Guess I'm going back!
Although we ended up with too many tickets so there will likely be some put back into the Lyte queue at some point in the not so distant future.
Fawn/Quacker might be looking for some, should msg them

Of course! Thanks for letting me know.
I think we have too many, but it’s not definitive. I’ll reach out again in the future before I go to Lyte if this is the case.
Same goes for whoever was asking earlier.
But at this time I can’t quite guarantee it. So look to Lyte and others for now, but there’s a chance for a safety net for someone who may need it down the line.

I signed up for Lyte last year like a month or two out from the fest and got tix a week before. Y'all are fine.
You're 100% right. I reviewed texts to my dad from last year and I actually started at #410 from the sound of it, and he wound up going. Everything is fine. I wasn't freaking out.

So many people buy tickets but don't have summer plans yet so plenty will be put back up on sale. As the fest gets closer a lot of people have conflicts pop up.
all but 1 in our group got tickets this year! I had a relatively easy experience. Sorry for those who didn't. Our one friend had luck with Lyte last year though it isn't always bad! Also booked a house this year over in Narragansett. Hoping we won't regret the drive over - but anything is better than the experience we had at Motel 6 last year!
Last year was the first year I didn't stay at motel 6...it was always fine though. What happened?
This is how good I feel about Lyte. Was in the low 300's when I clicked the final button, and that dropped to 297 as my final number. And only a few dollars above face value! Don't know how they do it.
Never saw tickets go this fast. Growing interest, but also wonder whether the pre-sale had an impact? Sure glad I took advantage of that. After shows will be insane.
If I Had a Song -- Wouldn't mind seeing Choir! Choir! again, even if on some off beaten road in the Fort. Honoring Pete, I wouldn't mind seeing Woody's kid, either.
3 day Tickets sold out slightly slower this year compared to last year. Also, there were more memberships this year. So if you calculate that in, there were less regular tickets, and still slower sell.
A perfect storm of work, a migraine, and connectivity issues means I didn't get a ticket and am currently #533 in Lyte. Someone please tell me I am ok 😭

we've stayed there for the past 3 years and the first 2 were fine - but this past year was just gross. We were in a room that smelled so strongly of cigarette smoke it gave everyone headaches, the bathrooms had this horrible like weird condensation leaking from the ceiling which was extra gross due to the residual cig smoke caked on the walls. They also messed up our reservation so at like 8 pm friday night we thought we wouldn't have any where to sleep before they finally figured out the issue.

Can confirm the weird condensation leaking from the ceiling. It was on the floor right in front of the toilet too so I thought it was feces and I left a nasty note for housekeeping and after they cleaned it - it reappeared the next day... then I realized it was dripping from the vent. The room smelled really bad too - not like cigarettes but more like some kind of musty smell.
10/10 would stay there again though. It's super cheap and convenient. They could take secret video footage of me in my room and I still wouldn't mind staying there. The only thing I did in the hotel was sleep, shower, and drink flasks of gin. You get what you pay for.

I saw Pinegrove last week and they were phenomenal. Do we think Newport would invite them back after the big scandal? (Newport does still follow them on social media)
The new album is a lot more toned down so I feel like they're an even better fit now than they were two years ago. I would also be very surprised if Half Waif doesn't play the festival, so I'm sure we'll at least have some Pinegrove members present.

If they were fine inviting/holding a tribute for Chuck Berry, I think Pinegrove are in the clear. And I hope they're back.
Definitely agree that the new album leans into the country influence a little more. Light On has been one of my favorite songs of the fall.

Maybe just me but outside of this forum I didn't hear any complaints about the Chuck Berry set and didn't even know about the allegations against him. With Pinegrove, the (3rd party) "allegations" are more fresh and if I just search the word Pinegrove on Twitter the top few hits are people complaining about their return to touring and calling them "a problem".

oh man. thought we were the only ones. our friends room didn't have it! our group doesn't do aftershows so we tend to get back a bit earlier. we actually extended our trip this day by few days to actually enjoy town after the fest.
but i agree- you can't really beat the price of motel 6 and you surely get you what you pay for.

I hope you're right, though.
That definitely stems from the kind of band Pinegrove is and the scene they come out of. Unless there's evidence out there, or even a claim, that he did something illegal, I don't see what people are going off of.
Does this part of the Pitchfork piece not pretty much settle things?
Since late 2017, both the band and the alleged victim have focused on coming to a private resolution via a trusted mediator. Until that resolution was reached, Hall said, “there was really no way for us to offer any clarification” to their fans. It was the alleged victim’s request that Pinegrove take a year off from touring and that Hall enter therapy. “We wanted to honor that,” Hall said. “She recognized that we’ve honored it, and has since approved our plan to release an album and play some shows later on this year.” (Their mediator confirmed this.)
