Wonder if they’ll get a similar artist to fill in for Noname. I hope they do.
If they go similar, I'd love to see Jamila Woods
For me it’d be Cautious Clay. I feel like he’s somewhere between Noname and Moses Sumney. Seems to be free. And is headlining my old favorite free summer fest that always booked Newport worthy bands like Dr Dog, Langhorne Slim, and Sharon Van Etten.
Or Lizzo, who has the weekend free with a tour stop that Thursday in Baltimore.
Also, I wish Noname a speedy recovery.

Looks like Lizzo is at MO POP on Saturday, but she would be really fun

I saw Cautious Clay at Governors Ball. I would not in the slightest be mad if he was the replacement. Really great, chill vibes, and excellent musicianship.

From NoName: "Due to health issues, I’m canceling the rest of my dates in June and July. I was really looking forward to seeing your beautiful faces, but I promise I’ll be back soon to make it up to you guys! Tried to push through it but things have gotten pretty severe. With lots of rest, medicine and veggies I should be right back to normal! Hopefully, in a few months time, I’ll be back to my rapping and petty self lol."
Always hate to hear about health issues in the younger artists and hope it’s nothing too serious. I’ll look forward to seeing her some other time.

Yea, always scary. I hope it's something minor and treatable like a vocal cord issue vs a serious condition. Hate she is missing the circuit of shows and fests this summer, more people need to know her.
I’d be about it. Still never understood all the Highwomen hype.
With all those features, if it's set up like the John Prine set a couple years ago, that could be an historic headlining set. Is this what finally gets Keef to the Fort????

Not sure if you’re making a point for or against Crow headlining, but she’s more than just opening for Heart. It sounds more like she’s being billed as part of the act, or at least as a “very special guest.”
"You look like you're listening to every note." - Lady to me during LCD's "final" show 2023: Mar 29 - Guster Apr 6 - Postmodern Jukebox Apr 26 - Father John Misty May 14 - Taylor Swift (Philly) May 17 - Robert Plant and Alison Krauss July 12 - moe. July 16 - CAKE (Portland, ME) July 28-30 - Newport Folk (#12!) Dec 8-9 - Goosemas!

Second request from me too for the mystery artist. I have searched high and low and still can't figure it out. Be kind and help a fellow Newport Festival goer! Thanks in advance.
Isn’t that exactly what the Highwomen set would be as well. Songs nobody has ever heard.
The difference is that this is a brand-new supergroup of very talented artists and this will be their first major show. That’s pretty cool imo
Two of whom have shown a commitment to the festival over many years. Sheryl Crow is great, but she’s not currently headliner status on any other festivals and doesn’t have a history with the festival to warrant a headlining spot. That’s one of the differences, amongst many others, between her set, if it included special guests, and John Prine’s headlining set from 2017. Norah Jones in 2016 also played the Jazz Festival.

This.
Also, one artist peaked about 2 decades ago. And even if she puts out a killer collaborative album, it could easily be missed by the everyday listener. The other artist is expected to peak within the next year. And we’ll all probably have listened to a few of their songs by the time the project plays out.
I don’t follow mainstream country stations/blogs/etc., but I’m pretty sure there’s a lot of hype for the HighWomen. Besides interviews with the Rolling Stone and Sirius XM’s the Highway, Maren and Brandi both played roles at this year’s CMT awards. Part of why this project was started was to create an act, led by women, that could headline festivals traditionally headlined by men. It’s hard to say if the HighWomen will ever be big enough to headline Stagecoach, Austin City Limits, Bonnaroo, or Lollapalooza... but I sure think they hope/plan to be (even though that’s wishful).

Someone here mentioned that Kacey Musgraves had a great set at Coachella this year so checked it out. Definitely upped her game since Farm Aid 2018. Maybe it was the more sunny relaxed vibe at Coachella. If that's it I'd say Newport will work for her. A lot performers on Friday are great friends so I'm expecting a very laid back fun vibe that day.
Edit... It'll be interesting to see if Sheryl plays after Kacey or other way round. Kacey lived at Sheryl's ranch and used it to record an album while planning her wedding. I don't think either of them will have egos about who plays when.
I got through the Lyte queue for a 3-day pass. My ticket is in my Eventbrite app, but it looks like an order confirmation. I even clicked "save ticket as image", and it just saves the order confirmation as a photo. There's no barcode anywhere. But the weird thing is it says it's mobile delivery, so I would expect a QR, barcode or PDF, as is usual for Eventbrite-ticketed events. So without any sort of barcode, does that mean the ticket is really will call? I'm very confused how this works. Can anyone shed some light? Below is an image of the alleged "ticket" that gets saved to my camera roll when I hit "save ticket as image".

No one has recieved qr codes / bar codes yet. Should be sent closer to festival date. I think maybe a week or so before.
Should be a message similar to below in your email.
Your tickets 2 eTickets The organizer will follow up with instructions on how to redeem your tickets and access the event
