So we haven't heard of a replacement for noname yet? Anyone think that's coming sooner than the schedule is released? Also, is it close enough to predict weather? This spring/summer in New England so far makes me believe the odds are greater than 50/50 for a few mud sets.

I am guessing that either A) she’s not getting replaced and there will be one fewer set on Saturday, or B) it will be left as an unannounced set when we see the schedule.

They could announce it with the schedule release, which is what they did when Songhoy Blues had to cancel in 2016.

Still so disappointed about that Songhoy Blues cancellation. That Resistance album has been on heavy rotation for me for years.
admittedly, i've never seen warren haynes perform live but i always pictured him commanding a huge crowd (think: fort stage). but with the stacked friday lineup, does that leave him in the quad? and what about phil lesh and lukas? some people have locked in kacey, sheryl, highwomen for closing the fort so i just don't know. we'll find out soon enough but i'm antsy!
I know a lot of people are talking about the idea of an all women fort stage Friday. I don’t think that happens, I think they get Lukas on the fort stage but I do see Warren and Phil playing the quad to close out that stage. We’ll see in a few days I guess.

Lukas played the Fort last year. I could see him getting a later in the day Quad set, but he wouldn't be any later than like 3:00 on the Fort, which would be the same as last year. NFF so rarely does repeats, I doubt they'll have him do a near carbon copy set.
Also, if NFF went through all of this criticism from female artists and then took the steps to fix the issues by booking a ton of huge female artist, and then relegated them to the Quad for the whole day, that would be a really bad and tone-deaf look, I feel like.

Newport shouldn’t get any criticism on that front. They book, and always have booked, plenty of women in the recent years at least.
Recents:
Emmylou Patti Smith Alabama Shakes Welch and Rawlings (Dylan Set) Mumford and Sons (every guest was a woman)

Yeah, Book More Women named NFF it’s #1 festival last year, so don’t think this lineup is reactive to any criticism. I think the festival is just trying to continue to lead by example. I do think an all woman Fort Stage is likely for Friday.

Didn't Brandi or Margo say from the Fort stage last year that they need a female headliner?

That's a little different than "all this criticism from female artists" though. Are there other examples?
Didn't check out Margo's set last year, so maybe it was then. Newport did go 2 years without an announced female headliner, so she wasn't wrong if she said that!

I was wondering if Phil might close the Fort. I'm sure he was expensive to get. But then Graham Nash played the Quad one year and he's also a legend.

That was Margo at her fort set. I remember my wife and I saying to each other "but Alabama Shakes and Patti Smith closed their respective days just last year...?"

From her it seems more like ego to me. She seems to have a big one. Again, this isn’t really an issue at this festival. IMO, of course.
Todd Snider .vs. Highwomen is an absolute killer conflict for me. Both are top acts I wanted to see here. Damn.
My harshest one (right now anyways) is the Museum Stage Outside Folk with Hargreaves followed by Judy Collins vs Our Native Daughters and Billy Strings / Molly Tuttle.
1) Newport didn’t go with the all women main stage (I’m glad I didn’t bet a beer on that one as I was about to). And... gave the headlining spot that day to a male when there were two other potential female headlining acts to choose from. I know Phil is very popular, but it’s a little strange when the idea behind the project came upon realizing women were not being booked as headliners at music festivals.
2) Given that Newport doesn’t traditionally cater to jam, I don’t think Phil Lesh is a bigger draw than a Brandi project. In terms of Spotify plays, probably the most currently popular artist on the lineup is Maren Morris. That’s going to be a clusterquacked Quad Stage. And unfortunately, the Quad doesn’t make it easy to get into a “pit”. You’ll have to camp all day at the stage for a decent view of the HighWomen.
3) Sheryl briefly overlaps with the HighWomen? Doesn’t she play bass in the project? Having the Future is Female overlap with The HighWomen seems like a bit of a disappointment; unless it’s planned Museum Stage crowd control.
4) Lucy overlapping with Kevin Morby is a total fail. While all music at this fest is “folk”, they play way too similar styles and cater to the same fans to have significant overlap.
But... other than these gripes... I’m actually fairly happy with the schedule. I expected a larger gap given my interests on Friday- and there isn’t any real gap for me at all. I expected more conflicts on Saturday- and I made it through with only the Kevin and Lucy conflict. Sunday has an hour and a half lull period for me, but I don’t think any scheduling could have prevented that for me.

Apologies on the triple post, but it looks like the location of the Quad Stage changed slightly on the map in the app. I could be wrong, so someone else might want to confirm, but when I compare it to an older map it seems to have shifted slightly to the side.
1) Unfortunately this might move the stage to where QC used to set up for the day.
2) On Tuesday, NFF responded to a comment on Facebook about a woman attending while pregnant, stating that there would be a new shade tent at the Quad Stage. This might be further evidence that the layout inside the fort has changed slightly.
Given that The HighWomen, Dawes, and Portugal the Man are closing the Quad, I guess it’s possible that Newport made these changes to accommodate a bigger crowd.
Edit: Museum Stage doesn’t look any different, but it’s worth pointing out that Bose is setting up outside of it. You might be able to listen in via headphones. Or they may be broadcasting it using a Bose sound system?
